Radiohead new album: fans overwhelm download site

Fans trying to download copies of Radiohead's new album, 'In Rainbows', have crashed the band's official site after the album was released today (October 10).

Many fans took advantage of the pre-order option, buying the album in the run up to its download release. A staggering system seems to be in operation, meaning most fans have been able to download the record without any problems.

However, those trying to get the album today are having more difficulties with Radiohead.com, the portal that takes you through to the album download site.

In the meantime, if you haven't got the album already you can hear it on a special NME Radio show that is being broadcast today.

We're playing the album in its entirety with the next broadcast starting at 15:00, with a further repeat at 20:00 (BST).

As previously reported on NME.COM, the band have shocked the music industry by releasing the album as a download, with fans choosing how much to pay for the album.

Radiohead say they are planning a traditional CD release of 'In Rainbows' for early next year.
