I have been watching some people on this forum having 'outbursts' etc and i've heard plenty say 'don't take it too seriously'
Do some members take things too seriously?

Yes and No.
Yes because it's only and only a forum.
No because it's a place we have to respect, to respect the rules and the members so it's normal to se some people being annoyed by some immature behaviours.
i totally agree with Remy there as it does get arguementive but we have got to learn how to ignore the arguments and get on together as friends should do

I have taken this place too seriously in the past which is completely ridiculous as apart from an internet connection nobody on this forum is a part of my life.

People, it should be impossible to take a forum seriously! It's a place to let loose your feelings ect! You shouldn't use it as part of you family!

I think it's easy to take this place to seriously when we all love hanging out here as much as we do. I think that outbursts should be kept to U2U rather than on the public forum, and people should remember the forum rules before having an e-strop.

I too think its so easy to misinterpret the ways people are "saying" things -and so people could take it to seriously -
But, tbh - I dont take it to seriously - Its suppose to be a fun place to talk about BB and other stuff! - WOOHOO

People have to take the forum non seriously, in order to maintain a friendly forum and an active community...
Otherwise arguments would be constant.
However, there's always an undercurrent of seriousness in having to follow the rules. Eg. You are free to express yourself, but directly insulting/swearing towards other members, or saying highly frowned upon things can conflict with the rules.
Unless someone says something completely outrageous, we should all try to understand eachothers point of views, as I feel a lot of people argue due to personal reasons, such as: Attention, to feel better about themselves, because they feel threatened by seeing someone express more intelligence than them, or the fact they're unhappy and need to let it out on someone etc.
Which means they don't take on other people's opinions at all, and instead argue purely for the sake of arguing. People such as those are in my opinion, people who are displeased with their lives...hence needing to belittle everyone in sight.
They're the only people who do take the forum too seriously in my eyes, those and the people who believe every bad thing a member says. Eg. we had a girl on the forum recently who said something about her friend dying, to which a lot of people offered their sympathies, only to find out she was a liar trying to cause trouble, and roamed the forum saying "Heil Hitler" etc.
Which should be considered proof that you shouldn't take things so seriously, or at least make a decent assessment of the users post to see if you feel it's true or not.

I'm one of the worst offenders for taking things too personally sometimes, hence the reason I tend to stay out of arguments and hear about them through my friends afterwards. If I get upset by something on here, people are like "It's only a forum, get over it!" and it offends me if they say something like that to me.
I like to come on and chat with my friends on here, if I'm upset about something then I'll discuss it with someone on MSN cos I find I can let things out better and if it's a one-to-one conversation then I'm not worried about who's going to see it and how they're going to react.
to me there has been alot of fallouts recently on here but I think myself that we should learn how to get on like friends and get to know one another because its not nice to keep falling out when we should get along with each other because its a forum not a wrestling match so I say forget about the falling out and lets just get along thank you :hug:

Yes it does seem that people are taking the board to seriously but everyones different. I used to take tibb very seriously, if there was something going on on the board I would become very involved but now my priorities have changed and I have much more to worry about than TiBB.
Its always best to take things with a pinch of salt and enjoy rather than stress
Having said that, being the other half of a mod can take its toll
