eh?i diddnt see it
I heard sumin like that, dont think it ment anything.
Yes I saw that but I don't know why you're considering it to be racist. She said: "You're Mexican and I'm black, lets not act like a couple of white people"
Sarah.

Even the mention of skin colour today is considered racist.

Racsit?
Dough people?
Attack of the racsit dough people?
All sounds like a cheap horror film to me.
She said "Dull white people"
To be fair, I think it would have caused a bigger reaction if someone else on the show said "Dull black people" so perhaps it is classed as evidence of how the mention of black people is considered worse than that of whites.
Saying that black/coloured/foreign people are more exciting/lead fun lives.
And that an entire race is dull...would fall under the definition of racism.
The only reason it's overlooked is mainly due to the fact that she only called white people "dull" which isn't all that offensive.

o yer i saw that i didnt think much of it only thinking it was rude saying white's are boring.
but we all know if marc or daniel said lets not act like boring black people there would have been a witch hunt.

i know this will cause controversy and im not condoning it (excuse spelling there lol) but why arent we alloud to dislike a black person fi were white and if were black why are we aloud to dislike a white person without it being racist?
Freedom of speach and all that.

I know what you mean...quite often you can be branded a racist for disliking a black person if you're white, even if it's because you dislike their personality. However, black people disliking a white person never seems to cause much commotion.
Although in this case she didn't dislike a white person, but stuck a "dull" label on the entire white population of the planet. Which means she actually called me dull, without knowing a thing about me. And called all white members of this forum dull also.
Which as I said, will be overlooked because it's not a very insulting word in todays world. Nowadays you have to swear or directly attack someone verbally to be considered insulting..and the word "dull" is rarely used when insulting someone.

plus its becoming more and more common that if a white person says they dislike a black person its seen as racist and theres a big hoo har about it whereas if it was the other way round race wouldnt even be mentioned. Its rediculous and im sick of it.

You can dislike a black person and call them an idiot, or call them boring, but if you bring in something about their race into your dislike for them, it's racist, because you're using their race as an insult.
:)tom:)

dupin thats so not true. if there was a fight involving a black and white over a ball the white person would be called racist for not letting them have there way.
ive been called racist for not giving a black peson some chips so race has nothing to do with it but whites are still being called racist.
like supernoodles im SO sick of it

i have a white cousin who lives in birmingham and we went on a night out about 6 months ago.Outside of a nightclub we witnessed an argument between a white girl and a black girl, police were trying to calm them both down but the argument continued and as it was not violent there was not much the police could do but tell them to stop.
Anyway the black girl called the white girl a snowflake, all the friends of the white girl started shouting at black girl calling her racist but niether the friedns or girl involved in the argument said anything racist back to the black girl. The police did nothing either and diddnt even acknowlede that the comment had been made.
I thought this odd and so asked my cousin why the white girl and her friends diddnt say anything back to the black girl and she told me that if she were to call her,say a n***er for example then the police would lock her up in a cell for night.Yet they turned a blind eye to the snowflake comment.
I think this is a disgrace

Snowflake isn't exactly a common insult known throughout our community...
It's just a reference to something that is white, like white people are. So nothing would happen anyway.
It's the equivalent of me calling a black person "SUNGLASSES!" just because sunglasses are usually black. It's a very random and lame attempt at an insult to be quite fair.
Plus, the only way this can be fixed is through the government...
Who will NEVER speak up about how black people get away with things, otherwise the person/people who spoke up would risk being branded racists themselves for mentioning black people in the first place.
So we're stuck with how things are im afraid.

Less of the "lol! that's ludicrous" please...
You said she said "SNOWFLAKE" only.
Sunglasses [a black item.] and snowflake [a white item.] are the equivalent of eachother.
You can't just conveniantly insert several swear words and the term "white trash" afterwards and pass off what I said as invalid.

=/ You're missing the point entirely.
Snowflake may be a racist term, but it's still a reference to a white object. Do you understand? SNOWFLAKES ARE WHITE that's why black people might call white people it.
Which is the equivalent of me calling a black person sunglasses because THEY ARE BLACK.
It's more than obvious that sunglasses isn't an established racist term.
I really don't know why I bother talking to some of you, it's like communicating with a group of primary school kids.

You...are...missing....the...point.
I said that snowflake and sunglasses are the equivalent of eachother. One is black and one is white, correct? CORRECT? yes correct.
That's the only observation I made.
I never said "sunglasses is a racist term used by people all over the country" as I THOUGHT you might be intelligent enough to realise I and everyone else already knows that, and that id never imply otherwise.
I refuse to talk to you anymore, as you're turning this into some form of argument for no reason what so ever. If you can't accept that snowflakes are white and sunglasses are black then I suppose that's a problem you need to address yourself. And you did start this, by passing off what I said as ludicrous..so you're the only person to blame for this being turned into what it is.
It doesn't matter if people class it as a racist term, it's still a ridiculous insult.
Calling someone a snowflake is an insult because a snowflake is white, and the person is white, correct?
So if I was to call someone a random black object, such as a pair of sunglasses, it'd be as equally as pathetic an insult.
It's like me calling a brown dog a tree, because tree's are brown =/
You know what I love? How black people can say racist comments but can't be racists while it's completely opposite for white people. Anyone ever seen Guess Who? If they made the original remake the same way it was, it'd cause an uproar. But I guess since white people have become more tolerant..

If you place a negative label on an entire race of people, that isn't racist?
She doesn't have to swear and call us all white trash just to pass it off as racism.
Calling all white people dull, is the equivalent of me calling all black people stupid. It's just a regular negative word, that has been associated with an entire race of people, even though all of those people are completely different.
Personally, I really don't care.
I hate to sound like im actually bothered that she called white people dull, because it really doesn't matter, plus she didn't write the script.
But it does fall under the definition of racism im afraid. Whether you agree with me or not, it doesn't matter..it's just fact. Placing a negative label on an entire race would be racism, end of story.
"RACISM -
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race."
Evidence of this:
People are of white race = they are dull, falls in line with the first bolded part.
It also implies black/foreign people aren't dull, which falls in line with the second bolded part.
It falls in line with the definition of discrimination.
