Is a scone technically a scone if it has chocolate chips in it?
As im sure the traditional recipe for a scone contains currants or whatever they are.....
If it has chocolate chips in it, it just becomes some form of chocolate chip cake?
You can place anything you like in the middle of the scone, but the recipe doesn't involve chocolate chips, so in my eyes it's impossible to have a chocolate chip scone.
Unless you just placed lots of chocolate chips in the middle =] which would be awkward to eat, as im sure they'd all fall out.

I asked my mum and she said its a muffin if it has chocolate chips in it.

I've no idea if a scone is still technically a scone with chocolate chips in, I've never gave it much though to be honest.
Becca, try them, they're lovely.
supernoodles!
