Hello! I wondered if someone could tell me hows the warning system works, or point me in the direction of somewhere that does?
CassetteFinger
18-10-2007, 01:57 PM
Well if you break a rule or insult someone you will get a warning which last 24 hours then the next warning lasts 48 hours then the next warning last 7 days then i dont know what happens next and i dont want to find out i see some people with 4 warnings and still posting so im guessing theres a limit of 5 then thats it your banned for life i have 3 warnings but never gonna have no more
James
18-10-2007, 01:58 PM
First warning is a 24 hour posting ban, second warning is a 48 hour posting ban, third - one week. Further warnings result in a one week ban from posting also. We decide if a user is to be permanently banned, there's no fixed rule there.
I'm an upstanding TiBB citizen and have no warnings.
So you should all love me.

people seem to think 5 warnings is an auto ban and that is not the case. 5 warnings means that we will discuss in Admin about future membership for the person in question and whether they can return or not.

^^^^Really oooooo i see dident know that.

I thought that too.
So technically, a member can recieve any amount of warnings?

Hahahaha!!!
I was saying on another forum earlier.
She obviously gets her kicks out of troll the forum, and getting a rise out of people. So why, when people do the same to her (and in my opinion, aren't half as rude as her) does she seem to get genuinely peeved, get abusive, resulting in a ban?!! It seems to back fire on her almost?
Does anyone follow me?:conf:

If the word 'Banned' appears under a user's posts that person is banned.

so now this is all cleared up nice and tody does everyone understand what the warning system involves now?
For those that are unsure about it being 5, we kind of use that for a benchmark and consider the circumstances behind the 5 warnings which is why we often say they have exceeded the amount of warnings people are allowed, does that make sense? it did in my mind!

Once you have done it, he can report you, and "voila". You have your very own warning. Only lasts 24 hours, so you will be back in no time at all, and then be part of the trend setters. Not that I would ever condone such a thing of course. Mine was purely an error of judgement on someones behalf. :laugh3:
Mind you saying that, I have been banned before twice by mistake, PMSL.

I haven't been on this forum for long, but from what I've seen, the moderation here is really very fair and effective, especially for such a large open forum as this. There are clearly boundaries which FMs can't cross here, but they seem to be very reasonable boundaries which don't stop people from debating issues they want to. It also makes a nice change to see mods going into threads, answering questions, and explaining things.

Yes I agree, the mods make a fair and nice job over here. They are fun and nice. TIBB is a big forum and sometimes the modshaven't much time for posting, but they do and it's a great thing. They aren't just here to be the forum police, they are involved in the thread and stuff, that's a good thing.

Mine were for hardly nothing, like my second one was for calling someone an idiot.. please! Someone called me a stupid cow and got away with it. Anywayy I got them 5 months or so ago so I don't give a damn about them anymore.
