I cannot wait for tonight's final! :colour::cheer::elephant::dance:

Hope that England win, but some how I think South Africa will.

Maybe though, Johnny fit Wilkinson  will clinch it for us.

This world cup has been gripping from day 1 and the anticipation is killing me, I could bearly sleep last night.

I've never been interested in a sporting event as much as this before.

Years ago, if my hubby had have put any kind of sport on the telly, be it hockey, netball, football, basketball, cricket or whateva, I'd of told him to turn over to whatever was on the other side.

But this year, after a night out got cancelled, I decided to watch one of the games wih my hubby (it was one of the first ones of this year's rugby world cup) and I for some reason got hooked.

I've spent a few hours everyday since mid-September on the BBC sports site checking the latest rugby news, I've been boring my friends on girly nights out with my views and opinions on recent matches and I've even managed to make my husband less excited than myself.

For once instead of him dragging me, I'm dragging him to the nearest pub with it on to cheer the England lads on.

GO BOYS , GO JOHNNY :thumbs:!

13 and a bit hours to go!

Players to watch:

For South Africa: Despite all the talk of Jonny Wilkinson's left boot, it is Percy Montgomery who possesses the tournament's most dependable peg - he has already pocketed 93 points, missing just one of his 14 penalty shots at goal. This will be the full-back's 94th and perhaps final appearance for South Africa, and a World Cup would bookend his vast array of records and gongs very nicely indeed. Bok fans have fallen in and out of love with old Monty over the years, but his place amongst the green and gold immortals could soon be assured. Also, keep your eye on the blur that is Bryan Habana. England managed to keep him in check last time out, but the speedster will be craving that try that will break Jonah Lomu's World Cup record of eight in one tournament.

For England: Here's to you, Jason Robinson. He has said it before, but this time he actually means it: this will be the last game of the great man's illustrious career. Quite why he feels he is ready for his pipe and slippers is a bit of mystery - the 33-year-old flyer, who began his career in Rugby League a full 16 years ago, is still England's best player by a country mile. Still, a second World Cup winners' medal would make for a fitting final chapter to the epic story of Billy Whizz, and Bok fans will be chastened to note that he has a knack of writing his own scripts - he signed off his club career by scoring a last-gasp match-winning try that edged Sale Sharks out of the relegation zone.

SO WHO WILL WIN

7 MINS

ENGLAND 0-3 SOUTH AFRICA. It's easy for MONTGOMERY who slots over the penalty to break the deadlock.

Loukas
20-10-2007, 07:14 PM
13 MINS

ENGLAND 3-3 SOUTH AFRICA. It may be out on the touchline, but it's of no consequence to WILKINSON who curls over the penalty with aplomb.

Loukas

16 MINS

ENGLAND 3-6 SOUTH AFRICA - It's another easy three points for MONTGOMERY. England can't afford to gift the Springboks points like that.

Good effort from us but ultimately too many mistakes with the line-out and too many penalties given away. The turning point was the try not being awarded really. It was a massive effort just getting to the final and every player can be proud of their performances.

Well done to South Africa, thought they would win it.

Congrats to South Africa. In all fairness they deserved it.

We played well but they were always the better team, to be fair.

This was a good showing for the England team after some poor performances early on in the tourn. The Australia match was a really good day out and its always nice to beat them, then a win over the French made it twice as good. Beating South Africa would have been a bit strange having already been thrashed by them in the groups, so I think that made it easier to take when they beat us in the final. As for the Australia/France games, they were the highlight of a great tourn as far as Im concerned and watching the team work their arses off through those matches with so much discipline and heart was all you can ask for as a fan. Itd be nice to retain the trophy, but the best team won.
