So, the first X Factor live show is on tonight, with Andy, Leon, Rhydian, Alisha, Emily, Kimberly, Beverely, Daniel, Niki, Futureproof, Hope and Same Difference battling it out for the final 11 places.

5:30 - 7:30: The X Factor
Dermot O'Leary presents as the final 12 contestants sing for viewers' votes in front of judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue in the first of the live studio rounds of the competition.

7:30 - 8:30: The Xtra Factor
Fearne Cotton goes behind the scenes of the talent show The X Factor

10:00 - 10:35: The X Factor; The Results
The viewers' verdict is announced, and the two acts with the fewest votes sing again, hoping to win a reprieve from Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, and Dannii Minogue.

10:35 - 11:20: The Xtra Factor; The Results
Fearne Cotton meets the first act to be eliminated.

Some of the times are of course pendant on the Rugby World Cup Final.

I know it doesnt start for another 6 hours, but we may as well start discussing it now. As it says in the other threads, the song choice sare;

I find it's usually the people who perform at some point in the middle - I expect Niki to be in the bottom two tonight even if she delivers an absolute show-stopper. Think Rhydian or Emily could be down there with her.

I'm still really undecided - he's been shown as really unlikeable so far in the show, but has a great talent... It could go either way, in my opinion.

To be honest, I think she over-dramatised her dislike of him at points - he hasn't been as bad as she's made him out to be (he's just a very confident person and knows he has talent).

She's going to slaughter him tonight and that will most probably win him a lot of votes.

Andy was nervous you could tell, but he did a good job.... its the sad soppy eyes that get me.....maybe he used them to his advantage a bit too much

Rhydian was hands down the best tonight, and I hate how Sharon was trying to humiliate him - she should be paying attention to her own acts instead of trying to embarass someone else and bash them, especially since Rhydian performed considerably better than any of Sharon's own acts tonight.

Niki was very good too, a lovely vocal from her.

Some of the others were ok and the rest were terrible.

Alisha and Kimberley are my favourites but they let me down. :(

I wouldn't buy his record - but he's good. And tonight he was far better than the rest of the average-at-best performers. I don't see any of these acts selling records anyway, at least I don't see myself buying them.

He has a hell of a lot more than the other contestants. Most of the men you can't tell apart from one other, Rhydian demanded attention on that stage, had the best vocals and all round best performance and there's nothing wrong with being cocky when you can back it up. I don't think he can win the show but I definitely think he needs to stick around to bring entertainment.

Performance of the night has to go to my favourite of the competition; Niki. An absolute show-stopper and another reason for me to love her even more than I already do - she's a powerhouse and deserves to go a long, long way in the competition. Kimberley, Beverley and Futureproof were all great, too.

The worst performance goes to Emily, in my opinion. She was like a fish out of water and I think she's out of her depth. She didn't deliver the goods this evening and I found the whole routine to be poorly presented and it just didn't work for me. Leon, Alisha and Daniel were pretty bad, too.

Andy and Hope were both playing it too safe for me and neither performance did anything for me - rather boring, actually.

My bottom two predictions (hopefully I'm wrong) are Alisha and Beverley.

Leon has, IMO, one of the best voices in the compatition. However the performace wasn't great. I think Danni & Brian ruined his chances.

Agreed, but to give him some credit, i don't think it's his fault. Danni and Brian Frediman helped with choreography and all that, he's not a dancer and thats not his job.

Hell yeah, I thought that was afwul. with leon already real nervous and everything, simon had to make a vicious dig like that at him, it was out of order. i do think he deserved to be there, but i think tonight just wasn't his night, and i don't want him to go tonight because i think he has further potential.

Leon was terrible. In all of his auditions before the live stages he was average if not worse. But tonight he was atrocious. It's amazing how Dannii thought he was a better singer than someone like Dominic.

True. Sharon just sits there acting as if she doesnt need to make a comment, a funny flick of the hand and a "darling" comment and shes done. Louis just says " hey guys" and Simon just says if its good or bad and takes each comment to the extreme. Dannii has been a really good judge tonight.

They're my two favourites (even though neither of them were great at all tonight) so I hope this doesn't happen. I think both are in danger though, as Alisha's performance was boring and throughout the show has got very little footage. Kimberley is more memorable as a contestant, but tonight she sang first and wasn't great so people might forget to vote for her.
