Seventh Harry Potter book may not be the last


THE seventh Harry Potter book may not be the last we hear of the boy wizard, author JK Rowling has hinted.

Instead, she may write another instalment about Harry as a grown-up.

The writer has always maintained that the seventh book would be the last.

But, quizzed by fans yesterday, she would not rule out another book revealing what happens to Harry after he leaves Hogwarts.

In a web chat to mark World Book Day, she was asked, "Are you going to write books about Harry after school?"

Rowling gave fans hope when she replied, "Probably not. But I'll never say never because every time I do I immediately break the vow."

The author - whose wealth was recently estimated at 1bn US dollars (£526 million) - is currently writing the sixth instalment.

"I can't say when it will be released because that's down to my publishers. But it's going really well. I am loving writing it," she said.

She promised more romance for the boy wizard - but also hinted that he would face a terrible ordeal in the book.

Asked what she would do if she could be Harry for a day, she replied, "I think I would go and hide somewhere, but that's because I know what's coming."

The 38-year-old said she planned to switch to a "completely different genre" of writing once she has finished with Harry.

More than 16,000 Potter fans sent questions in to the web site during the hour-long chat.

I love the Harry Potter books. Couldnt put the last one down until I had read it.

Though not too worried about romance for Harry, the romantic in me would like to see Ron and Hermione get it together.:love:
