'X Factor' beats 'BB' to Nickelodeon award

The X Factor has won the best reality show gong at the first ever Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards UK.

The ITV1 singing contest beat off stiff competition from Big Brother, Britain's Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity to take home the prestigious award, which was voted for by Nickelodeon viewers.

Ant & Dec were named best TV presenters at the east London awards ceremony, while teen comedy Drake & Josh beat Doctor Who to the best TV show prize.

The Disney Channel's High School Musical won two gongs, with Zac Efron being declared best TV actor and Ashley Tisdale being named TV best actress.

McFly, who hosted the awards ceremony, took home the best band prize, while Avril Lavigne's 'Girlfriend' was declared best music video.

The Simpsons Movie beat Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to the best movie prize, but Emma Watson made amends by scooping the best movie actress award for her Potter role.

Johnny Depp was named best movie actor for his turn in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, while Mr Bean's Rowan Atkinson was declared funniest person.
