View Full Version : Should Kimberly be given a second chance?

When we revealed earlier that Kimberley’s early departure from The X Factor could be down to an ITV scheduling mix-up, you responded in your droves. So now we want your definitive answer – should Kimberley be given another chance and come back for next week’s show, when hopefully someone will actually be watching her performance, or is it just one of those things and she should jolly well get on the Megabus back to Birmingham? Share your thoughts and vote below...

Defo! I felt so sorry for her! She was one of the best performers on Saturday & i don't think its fair that she didn't get her mentor's support!

Although I like her and think she was unfairly voted out on Saturday, I disagree she should come back.

It'd be unfair to the public, the judges, and moreso, the contestants.

I would love to see her back, I just don't think cancelling out one unfair, with another would make anything particularly fair. Just a big messy ball of unfairness.

She could come back and then there be a double eviction of Saturday.

There was a scheduling mix-up? I'm pretty sure that we knew what time the show would begin for at least a full week before-hand, so it's not really a mix-up. At all.

I didn't want her to go at all and she was one of my favourites but it would be unfair to bring her back.

One word "Petition".

Whilst I think Alisha should have gone over Kimberley, it would be unfair on the remaining acts if Kimberley was brought back.

Moreso, I don't think ITV would risk bad publicity by bringing her back. After all, the public paid to vote to boot her out on Saturday, and we all know how much trouble ITV has got into from phone-in scandals recently...

I think overall the voting system on the X-Factor needs changing to the same system as the Big Brother format, i.e. you vote out the worse act rather than voting for the act you like most.

Kimberley clearly wasn't the worse act on the X-Factor on Saturday Night and if people had been voting to remove the worse act then I think she would have stayed in the show.

As the system stands people just vote for the best act on the night which means that a good act could go out the show and a bad one stay just because nobody thought to vote for them.

ITV made it very clear that vote closed at 9pm, there was no scheduling mix up. She was eliminated fair ad square.

On TV3 in Ireland which runs along side with ITV it wa scheduled for 10pm but aired at 10:15pm. However this would not have effected the vote as voting closed at 9pm.

It wasn't to do with the closing time for the votes, more to do with some people that tuned at 17:45 rather than 17:30 would have missed Kimberly's act altogether and not bothered to vote for her.

It would seem this was one of the things Sharon was upset by.

Ohh I see so because it was advertised to start at 17.45 and not 17.30 I can see why some people would have missed her performance.

I dont think she should be given another chance though, its a shame because there were worst performances than her but thats the way the show goes

Definitely. Its clear the producers wanted to make a laughing stock of her, giving her that song, and then dressing her like Miss Scarlett from Cluedo. And then they put her on before the show was even supposed to start, it had only been changed like 2 days before, which is really unfair

I agree.

Like I said before unless the voting system is changed there will always be a chance that the worse act remains in the show. That is what happened on Saturday Nights show.

Sharon chose the song, not the producers.

Kims performance was missed by loads, cos loads of people still thought the show was on at 5.45, when in fact she was the only one to perform at 530

I have heard this sort of thing before from fans of housemates that get kicked out of the house. These are always fake and if they did occur in Big Brother voting they would be found out by the independent body that checks the votes for Channel 4.

The thing with the X-Factor is, as far as I know it doesn't use independent body to check the votes. However given all the trouble that ITV have been in over the use of phone line games I can't see them fixing anything. The risk of being found out is to great. They would be fine thousands of pounds and the show would be pulled losing millions in advertising income for the company.

I think these stories are a load of bull.
