Britney Spears' ex-husband has expressed fears that the singer could kill herself, according to a report.

The News of the World claims that Kevin Federline confided in his girlfriend Nicole Narain, who has given an interview to the newspaper.

Federline is currently battling Spears for custody of their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

"Britney's behaviour has already put our kids at risk and I can't let things get any worse," Kevin explained. "She's lost all grasp on reality and is dragging the children through hell. Her mood swings are now so wild that I live in fear of getting a call telling me that she has killed herself.

"I can't allow her to have custody because I seriously believe she could harm our sons. I've shared her life and I know she's capable of anything with pills and a few drinks inside her."

Nicole added: "Kevin is battling for his kids as he genuinely fears they are at risk. He never shouts and screams about Britney in front of me. He does speak openly about his concerns for his children though."

I think it's unhealthy that Britney and Kevin split on terms like this, primarily because of their children. It'll be horrible for them in a couple of years when they'll be more aware of what went on... in an ideal world things will be resolved a little more by then. I don't think K-Fed's out to 'destroy' Britney seeing as she is the mother of his children, but no father wants their children to be in danger... and judging by the press and what we've seen of her in general recently, Britney hasn't proven herself to be the doting mother I always thought she could be.

I'm a fan of Britney's because of her music and am one of those sticking by her, but even I understand that if she wants her life to turn around she needs to control it and make sure she can't be accused for all the things she is seen doing. I don't want her making any hasty choices, but her main problem seems to be the public eye at the moment. In the past, she said she would take a break for a while to sort things out (which is one of the best options), but it lasted about 2 days.

She wont kill her self and CERTAINLY NOT her children.... i personally think she is/was devastated by this divorce even though she eneded it.... I mean he has got another child where is that child?????

I mean to get his girlfriend to do this story aswell is really low of him....

I think he probably knows Britney better than you do, and so can make a fairer judgement on the matter than you can.

I don't think he actually said in that article he thought Britney would physically harm the children, it just implied that he didn't trust her to care for them properly. There's a difference, however slight.

To me, I think Britney's lost the fight for her kids. She's extremely erratic, turning up late for vital court cases etc.

I think Britney needs to check into rehab, for a proper, lengthy stint, and then focus on getting her music career back on track. She should try and establish some kind of connection with Kevin and her kids, try to be friends with him again so that her children don't grow up not knowing her, or hating her because Kevin does.

The fact is, you're not in a position to judge anything to do with the custody battle. Just because you like her doesn't mean she's a decent mother; it's clear that she's mentally volatile, and in no position to have children anywhere near her.

DONT FORGET she dumped him with a text message which was seen ALL OVER the WORLD... i can see by the pictures she loves her children... and yeah i cant judge her niether can you and CALL her mental.... yeah she does need to spend at least 3months in rehab to get better BUT she isnt mental.

kevin imo is making her life hell everyday as she publicly dumped him.

I don't think that it's fair to blame the age she started, or the fact she couldn't grow up for her going off the rails.

I didn't say she was "mental", I said she was mentally volatile, which I believe has been medically proven, so it's not just me giving my opinion.

Most of what you're saying is irrelevent, what it comes down to is that she's an awful mother and a silly person.

I dont always believe that the best place for children is with their mother, I believe the best place for children is with the parent who can provide them with love, stability and safety which Britney has yet to prove she is capable of doing.

She is a young woman who knows right from wrong, she can choose to do the right things to make sure she gets to spend time with her kids or she can carry on on her self indulgent, self destructive path which will ensure she will not get to have her kids returned to her.

Britney has a lot of work to do to get her kids back. I know she has been trying very hard but it shouldne be hard work, you should do whats best for your kids without the need for court intervention!

Kevin is the reason why this has gone to court...he is demanding FULL custody..he never seems to get bad press unlike Britney.

And also Britney has said that Kevin should Be doing Drug tests aswell and that he is getting away with it.

I don't think anyone is calling Britney an abusive mother I think people don't think she copes very well. For instance, why has she just released an album with all the problems in her personal life?

I was listening to Perez Hilton on Annie Mac show last Sunday and he didn't seem to have a great deal of sympathy for Britney. I know he's a bitchy so and so, but even he thinks she brings much of the negative press on herself.

I don't think Perez Hilton like anyone, but what he was saying struck a chord with me. He said she has people who invite paps to come to wherever Britney will be by giving them insider information. He said that it's her own people who reveal where she's going to be. When he was asked why she did this, he simply replied - She loves the attention. That's no good.

I feel sorry for her, she has grown up within a manipulating industry.

She needs to sort her problems out, in the correct way, no tiny stints in rehab that 'look' good but a proper stay where she can look at her life and those she loves and try and find some perspective on what she has been through.

I dont think she is a bad mother as such but its a mother instinct to want to care for her children and when you put parting or tanning (for example) above them.... its time to take stock and find out what is going wrong.
Personally I dont think the children should be with kevin either, I think they should have either gone to their grandparents or social services should have stepped in until both parents get the help that they need

At the heart of this mess are 2 children. A decision has to be made about the best place for them to be right now. Listening to the news Britney appears to be getting more time with them, which is good for her and good that the kids maintain contact with their mum.

I know what you are all saying about KFED not being a role model for good parenting but he has not been the one living a publicly destructive life at the minute. She is young and niave and I have never once said she doesnt love her children, but she appears to have her priorities wrong when it comes to them.

I hope she does sort herself and her life out, she is a great performer who has been pushed and shoved her whole life.
