I'm not so sure Take That will be No. 1 this week, but they'll definitely be pretty high up there!

Gwen Stefani's song has been in the chart for 4 weeks now on downloads alone. That's No. 7 now, but I think it'll chart very highly, although perhaps not No. 1. The Fray's song is out in the shops this week too - it's a tough week in the charts!

- The Kaisers and Mika are going to be a tough top 2 to separate! Saying that, Kelis' new song has also been selling very strongly - who can tell!?

Take That fans don't care that they already have the album. They buy the singles anyways. Every single TT fan buys every single single.

Pipergun
18-03-2007, 05:55 PM
I know Laura, I didn't expect that at all either!

I don't particularly like the S Vs. GA song, I think it's a poor man's copy of the original, but it's for a good cause, so I'm not complaining!

Princess
18-03-2007, 05:57 PM
Yeah,no matter how bad charity songs are they should go to number one!

Btw do you know who that is at number 3?

Pipergun
18-03-2007, 05:59 PM
Yeah, did you watch Comic Relief? It's the mickey-take charity single that had the Andy Pipkin from Little Britain and Brian Potter from Phoenix Nights as "guest vocalists".

It's hilarious, I'm sure it'll be on YouTube!

Princess
18-03-2007, 06:00 PM
Ooooh yeah that! Nah I didn't its all on my sky+ I just have to get around to watching it! So thats 2 charity singles in top 3!Well thats good!

Woohoo! That's good news too, thanks!

It's odd I personally prefer "Shine" to "Patience" as it has more life to it, but it doesn't seem to have done as well. Not that it's done badly, but just in comparison.

Princess
25-03-2007, 05:57 PM
Yeah, probaly because Patience was the comeback single,it was bound to be loved!

Pipergun
25-03-2007, 06:00 PM
That's true! It didn't have such the hype around it I guess, and it didn't have 2 charity singles!

Just looked on Wikipedia and it says Cascada made No. 1 in Ireland? I'm not sure, Wikipedia isn't the most reliable of sources!

Princess

I think Arcade Fire are Number 1 with Cascada number 2 and TT at Number 3. But it may have changed.

Oooh yeah the charity singles, they always make a huge difference to the charts!Personally I prefer Shine as well(but thats only because Mark sings it)

I thought it was about a month now? I guess Patience was more popular and it was the first single so not many had got the album by then.

Quite predictable really.. with two artists with such huge fanbases as Shakira and Beyonce, they were bound to reach #1.

Can't say I'm a fan of the song - a bit bland!

I'm liking the Top 10! I didn't really expect Beautiful Liar to reach No1, but is a good song IMO - at first I didn't like it, then I got sick of it, but it grows on you. Simple but effective really. I've also heard the version where Shakira sings in Spanish, and Beyonce in English. I like most of the songs in the Top 40 and the Top 10 generally is pretty good as I mentioned!

Ooh and I actually really like Ne-Yo's new song, Because of You!

I realise there's less interest, as BB is currently on the go, but I thought I'd post the current chart positions and overall sales figures for singles and albums, covering 2007 thus far.

Gives you something different to look through when BB starts to get on your wick, anyway! :spin:

I think so - It's got all the right elements - Catchy tune, memorable video, marketable image.

I think it might be more of a struggle for her though. There'll be strong competition from Calvin Harris and Kelly Clarkson Imo.

Yeah, I'm surprised by her. I expected her album to be rubbish, but's got some awesome collaborations (the Groove Armada and Amy Winehouse songs are fantastic) and her solo songs are good also. Love her

I think it gets to a point where so many people have bought the album, that 4th/5th singles don't sell very well as everyone has it on their album.

I reckon that 's the case with Take That.

#17 Isn't too bad anyway! Remember All Saints? Their second single got to #256 (looked it up!).

Its all TT's fault! They did s**t all for promo. Us Thatters went above and beyond downloading, buying and promoting the single all over the place. Just wasn't enough! Ah well, hopefully it'll go up after the Diana concert.

edit:256,hahaha.

Uh I think it is?

Fern said 'Spice Girls in at number 20 on downloads alone, I wonder where they'll be on actual physical release'

so I think it is just on downloads. If you didn't listen to it, please don't tell me I'm wrong when I know what I heard and if you listened, you should listen right.

Yes, that's what I'm saying?

This is the singles chart thread. Not downloads.
I didn't post the downloads one, so why go totally off-topic causing an arguement that didn't need to even happen :conf2:

As I said, if you didn't listen to show you wouldn't of heard Fern say it's at number 20 on DOWNLOADS alone.

It's not out for another 2 weeks, like I said ASWELL.

Duffy NO 1 4th week in a row.
Its a shame that Piece of me went from #15 to #24, it was quite a big drop but i think POM has lasted lobger in the chart than Gimme More did.
