X Factor winner to record OO7 theme tune

Leona Lewis is all set to record the theme tune for the new James Bond movie after producers decided Amy Winehouse wasn't the right gal.

The X Factor winner, 22 – who shot straight to No 1 yesterday with her new single Bleeding Love – is said to be in talks with film company EON to discuss the signature tune.

'Leona's beaming from ear to ear at being asked to be part of such a huge movie,' a pal tells the News Of The World.

'She thinks it's a real honour to follow in the footsteps of some of the world's biggest female names including Shirley Bassey, Sheryl Crow, Madonna and Tina Turner.'

Amy Winehouse, 24, was originally tipped as the perfect candidate for the film - known only as Bond 22 - but after her whirlwind drink and drugs benders last month, bosses decided she didn't have the right image.

Bond 22 - which stars Daniel Craig - is to be released next year.

Plus, would Amy Winehouse turn up to record the song in the first place? Pity, as I think she has got an amazing voice.

Do I sense that LuvaLuva may actually get involved in an argument.

I think they are both great singers. Amy makes better tunes but Leona has a truly amazing vocal range, power and control. In fact, with Clive Davis involved in Leona career, I can see her becoming a worldwide star who could be nominated for Grammy's in a few years time.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm? Surely not from you.

I saw this a couple of days ago but thought it was just a rumour. The bit about them dropping Amy Winehouse seems credible because of the drugs and stuff. I love Amy as well but I think Leona would be a much better choice for this, IMO of course.

I heard that they had got somebody from HIM to sing the theme tune? (Don't know if it's HIM but i remember that the person in question is swedish).

I hope they give Amy Winehouse another shot in another Bond Film, she would be perfect for it I think.

I'm glad for Leona, This could be a big break for her worldwide.
