So now we know = its Mark and Michelle with Sam going tonight.

The dark horse strikes again! I really like Mark and hope he does well next week.

They were all very nervous and it showed and I really didnt like Sam's version of Always - one of my favourites.

Pete has really gone down in my estimation - how roooodddddd!!!!!!!

And how nice to see Darius again. What sense he talks and how nice he was to the pair of them.

GO MARK

Now I know why Sam went - in his pop jam he was asked his most annoying celebrity and he said

SOMEONE OFF OF BIG BROTHER.

So he's obviously not one of us.

Yeah I agree Busy Bee. No offense to Michelle or anything because I liked the final 3 but....

GO MARK!

Bit of a shock that result then.

I think that what cost Sam was when the judges said that he had booked his place in the final. The public probably thought they didn't have to vote for him.

That's my interest in Pop Idol ended. I cannot believe Michelle and Mark have made it to the final. Good singers yes. Pop Idols? No way near. Either Chris or Sam should of won, and both should of reached the final.

You make a good point James. I wish the Judges would refrain from making comments which could stop the public voting. Haven't they learnt this lesson by now? Poor Sam. He and Chris have been robbed of the final and Mark, once again, has scraped through.

Mark has "scraped through"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me but Mark has been consistently good all the way through this competition. He is a nice guy who has a great talent, and I couldn't be happier that he is in the final!

Me too - he's had to put with all the judges writing him off when his confidence must have got really low. But still he's bounced back and has shown real backbone. Even Kate Thornton has given the impression he shouldnt be there.

Whatever anyone says - the public obviously like him and if he wins he will certainly deserve it after all the hassle.

The fact the judges have consistantly wrote him off is probably because he's put in the worst performances week in, week out.

I've seen better singers at Butlins.

Well I'd actually like to see Michelle win it now.

I was also surprised when I saw Sam was going and Mark had gone through, but I agree his performance of "Always" was like scraping your mails down a blackboard!

Mark is a nice guy but a bit on the bland side and will be another boring male face in an over-saturated market. Michelle is a bit different and I would like to see her have her chance at the charts.

But I don't think any of the three of them will be around this time next year, having had the success that Will, Darius and Gareth have.

Well I don't really rate Mark or Michelle to be honest, but then I think it has been a pretty lack lustre show this year on the whole.

I used to like Michelle, but have recently gone off her big time, her voice now annoys me and I couldn't have agreed with Nicki more when she said she sounded Nasal on Saturday - Michelle ALWAYS sounds nasal! I also don't like what I see of her personality very much.

I agree that Mark is a little bland, but he has put in some good performances and I would definitely prefer him to win rather than Michelle. I think he stands a good chance as well as I would imagine that many of Sams voters will now vote for Mark.

What a load of cobblers!!!!!!!

Mark wasn't flat on Saturday, Sam was terribly flat when he was singing "Always". Both Sam and Michelle have had disappointing weeks, whereas Mark totally blew me away on several occasions.

The boy is class, he will be a great pop idol when he wins on Saturday!

Lets hope you are right Janette.

I just hope they have them singing one of their songs that they have previously sung, because if Mark sings that Elton John one he will walk it. It was brilliant.

I think Michelle thinks she is going to win, but I agree I think Sam's voters will transfer to Mark and that could be the clincher.

Sam's version of Always on Saturday was truly awful. I listened to the Bon Jovi versions afterwards (the original and the new version on his new CD) and the difference was amazing. Sam was very amateur.

I do agree though, this year's standard is much lower than last year. Still we shall see.

Shouldn't we, at this stage of the competition, assess the remaining few contestants for their overall performances over the last two months or so? It seems a bit unfair, if it was the case, to vote out Sam on one performance alone. Clearly Sam has been more consistent than Mark and Michelle. He also has a nice personality and appears intelligent.

I've watched Pop Idol, Pop Rivals, American Idol and out of all the series to me this is easily the most disappointing of finalists.

I never watched Fame Academy, but even I'll acknowledge that Alex Parks is a very talented singer and writer with a unique voice.

People maybe putting image before talent when discussing Mark. I guess he's a good looking guy, but can they honestly say he's a great singer? In the league of Will or Darious, say?

And I don't necessarily believe Sam voters will vote for Mark. I think, like me, they're so disillusioned with this series they won't bother.

Well, good luck to them both.

I agree with lots of the above comments

I didn't actually see a Pop Idol anywhere this year. Michelle is a good 'novelty' winner, but she will have one or two minor hits at best, unless she goes for the schmaltzy middle of the road stuff.

Mark is very consistent, and I would like him to win, but he doesn't blow me away.

Unless he develops dramatically, he won't last either I fear..........

Michelle is the 13/8 odds on favorite
And Pete Waterman has said that Michelle is odds on to win

Janette

Pete Waterman has said some very nasty things about both Mark and Michelle being Karaoke singers and that neither of them will last.

Pete, this is for you:-
