If you think about it, CBB4 was astonishingly successful, yey BB7 beat it, shows its popularity there. BB8 just was crap with crap HM from day one.

BB7 beat it most probably because it was on at the time of nominations and fresh in peoples memory.

What on earth are you talking about, how can people forget CBB4 that quickly when it only started 2 months before BB7.

I'm sorry BB8 is the second worst series, you cant blame the producers but the crap HM that made the show flop.

The producers choose the HMs so you can blame them, and they came up with terrible tasks and twists as well.

Because BB7 was so successful, that's why they made a mess of BB8. In BB7 they had too many housemates, and unoriginal tasks and twists. BB8 was no different in that respect, it just happened to be an even bigger mess than BB7. Now that BB8 is seen as one of the worst series ever and didn't win an NTA, the producers might wake up and work on giving us a great series.

In term of ratings yes but not in some people's mind.

The reason Big Brother 8 wasn't a success comes down to what happened in Celebrity Big Brother 5. If wasn't for the Jade Gobby affair then the producers wouldn't have had to tone the format down and chosen relatively safe housemates which were then gagged with new rules about racist remarks and bulling.

As far as I can see what made Big Brother 7 in some peoples eyes wonderful was also in it's down fall for others. It certainly polarizes opinion on here with people behaving like fanatical right wing cultists about the series and place the housemates on pedestals which nobody can knock down as far they are concerned. The question if this is good or bad for the site edges towards the good end of the spectrum since the constant Big Brother 7 threads generate debate, although at times limited.

As for awards. Who cares it's what you enjoy personally that matters.
