I've been thinking the same for ages. Matt is probably the best person to ask.

There should be plenty of tutorials on google =] google is everyone's friend.
You most likely need to create/download brushes and learn how to merge them with your image if you're wanting to blend properly.
Tweaking the opacity settings is usually a must, but won't look good on its own.
Besides that, it's all about being creative and having a keen eye for detail, and what works well. Ive only just got photoshop CS2 back on my computer this week, so im a bit rusty, might be able to help better later...if this hasn't been answered by then.
iMatt'll know, just ask him to do it for you.
There's a nifty little eraser tool. :)
Use the eraser tool or the marquee tool(s). Fiddle with the settings to get your desired effect.

How do you get the marquee tool?
Use the eraser connor, its much easier. Ive been doing it for a short while and find it easy already so you should too :)

I use the eraser for my blends.
Please look in my sig for an example of the results you can achieve.

But when I use the eraser on CS3, it just leaves a white mark. :bawling:

I didn't realise the eraser was capable of accomplishing such things...
Is that purely making use of eraser/background eraser/magic eraser? or all three? or something found in the options?
