Paul Ferguson on The Office? The first part was last night and I missed it.

BRENT OUT OF SHAPE AND LOSING HIS MOJO FAST

Dec 27 2003

YEAH baby! David Brent is back to take his final bow and he's groovier than ever at least in his own mind. The Office's self-styled poet, philosopher, humanitarian and dancer basically, he's a chilled-outentertainer takes centre stage as Austin Powers.

Three years after he lost his job, the former boss of Slough paper merchants Wernham Hogg, played by show co-creator Ricky Gervais, still thinks he's a celebrity. And in an attempt to cling to what little Z-list fame he has left, Brent dresses up for a ''celebrity'' Blind Date-style show alongside Howard Brown, from the Halifax adverts, and Big Brother's Bubble. Back in the office, Gareth played by Mckenzie Crook is still in charge although his management style is more than a little reminiscent of his former boss.

Fans will have to make the mostof the festive two-parter, which concludes tonight as Gervais says there will be no more.

He added: ''My plans would not change even if I were to win an Oscar.''

Watched the first part this afternoon - taped it as I will the second part I love the Office.

Had quite a surprise when I saw Bubble as I had no idea he was on it. Sorry though Bubble if you think this will be the start of a great acting career - you were pretty bland and very forgettable. No personality shown at all.

The programme on the other hand was absolutely amazing. Pure genius.

God, how awful to have to do that for a few bob. I can't imagine they would be willing to cough up for long, if all you did was puty a hat on your head and stick your tongue out. In that case, David Brent's dance, and Howard's backward singing look positively riveting in comparison...........
