View Full Version : Big Brother 9 USA could launch as early as February
The Writer's Guild of America strike did go ahead as scheduled yesterday. With such names as Jay Leno, Tina Fay, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus joining the picket lines.

There are a ton more articles on Variety and also Hollywood reporter, but perhaps the most important article is the following.
CBS leans on 'Brother' during strike
Reality show staffing up for early launch
By JOSEF ADALIAN
CBS may rely on its "Big Brother" as a strike contingency.
Skein, usually a summer staple, has started staffing up for an in-season run that could be on the air as soon as February, people familiar with the situation said. Indeed, in anticipation of a strike, Eye quietly began casting for the next edition of the show a few weeks ago.
Exec producer Allison Grodner is also said to be working on a new creative twist for the Julie Chen-hosted skein, in which a group of strangers lives together in a house for three months.
There's been buzz that the next edition of "Big Brother" might actually use celebrities as opposed to civilians. A long strike might work in favor of such a plan, since some celebs normally busy working on sitcoms and dramas might have some time on their hands.
Possibility of an early "Big Brother" popped up on Tuesday's edition of the Eye's "Early Show." Anchor Hanna Storm joked that the show might be back sooner than the summer, prompting a roll of the eyes from Chen. Chen then expressed her hope that the strike is settled soon.
"Big Brother" would be a perfect strike weapon for CBS since it airs three times a week, filling three key hours of primetime.
Eye execs declined comment.
Endemol USA and Allison Grodner Prods. produce "Big Brother."

This is excellent news. Robyn Cass has been revealed to still be the casting director. She has announced that the appliactions are due by April 13th, 2008 so right on schedule for that.

OMG yey! I can't wait to hear more news on it since i loved last season.
This would be the perfect opportunity to do a celebrity edition since no one will be working. Although the incident that happened in the last UK celeb version would have a strong possibility have happening here especially because of the stupid statements that regular houseguests have made before here. This is great though because it could possibly be given more then 3 time slots, but it would be difficult to not schedule it against American Idol and Dancing With the Stars. CBS does have The Amazing Race (the 11th season just premiered on Sunday and casting has begun for the 12th), Survivor(The most watched pure reality show in America), Power of 10 (Game show that Daniele and Amber went on last year and garnered similar ratings to Big Brother and has Drew Carey as host), Kid Nation (The first season launched in September. It's about 40 kids under the age of 15 trying to creating a town that they can run. It stirred a lot of controversy, but ratings continue to fall and are lower then what big brother got. Big Brother airs in Summer when no one is watching. Although it should be noted that Summer has gotten much more competitive over the last four years.), CBS also ordered six episodes for Million Dollar Pyramid hosted by Regis Philbin, and in one of the many articles I read that they ordered some legal show with former prosecutor Marcia Clark. CBS also has 48 Hours (Investigates murders and launched during the last strike that last for 22 weeks in '88.), and Sixty Minutes (The most watched news magazine program in America)

I ent never seen it, their accent annoy me anyway lol, and they like love everything
I have heard how it is better then the UK Big Brother.
What do you mean by they love everything? Also from what I have heard ABC has completed 8 of the 16 eps for Lost and plans on airing the 8 starting February 8th in the States.

Yeah Cuse and Lindelof have completed 8 episodes, but if the strike goes on for longer than that then the series will just end in the middle! That's not good for a show like Lost.
Fox has already postponed the launch of 24 and as no surprise FOX is known for always making the oddest schedules ever, but the one they announced today is by far the most confusing they have ever had.

Ohhhh good.
I missed the end as I was on hols in the summer and all downloads didn't work anymore. :bored:
So if it's in Febuary I could watch it all. :laugh3:
American Idol and Dancing with the Stars would still be there and they are the two most watched shows in America.

OMG, its about time cbs does celebrity big brother :) im so so excited for this... i think it will do great, since theres really no other shows on, im pretty sure dancing with the stars will be over by febuary, and wow american idol, its on tuesdays and wednesdays, big brother is on tuesdays, thursdays, and sundays so only one show a week would be overlapped, or they will move the show to a different day or time,
still,, is the strike really gonna last that long? just give them the money and shut up.. they really should get money for it, the actors/actresses wouldnt be rich with no lines to say!
 i duno whats gonna happen but hopefully celebrity big brother will happen :)
The networks expect it to last for a long time. FOX announced a very different schedule then what they announced in May for early 2008. It is the most confusing thing I have ever seen for an American schedule(I have always thought British tv schedules are impossible since they start at odd times and at different times different weeks. All American shows always
start at the top of the hour or half past the hour.) The strike will also heavily effect Canada, since they air nearly every American show as well usually simulcasting the American broadcast.
Here's the current FOX schedule
Sunday
7/6ct comedy reruns/the NFL (Alternates getting the afternoon games with CBS each week)

Just some thoughts for interesting people to put in if it is celebrity, some of them are way out there.

Angelina Jolie

BIG BROTHER WILL RETURN IN FEBRUARY
In a conversation today with Robyn Kass of Kassting Inc the primary casting agency for Big Brother, it was confirmed that Big Brother will commence in February.
They are very busy at casting the show as I write this and Robyn asked me to pass on the word to get your applications in or contact her at her website, http://kasstinginc.com/ .
I asked Robyn during our conversation if the Big Brother rumors were speculation or was there a basis in fact? Robyn replied "We are casting with the thought in mind that the house guests would move into the house during the first week of February.
I can not quote on the following, but my feelings are it will be a normal Big Brother, not a Celebrity Big Brother and it is a strong possiblility that the summer Big Brother will also take place.

I never really know what would be better. In my opinion, the viewers can only get more involved in the American after last years big brother, with America's Player. In 2000, when it premiered it was on 6 times a week. Nothing in America at that time aired more then once a week, other then dateline(a news magazine). Also there was no reality show with the public evicting people. It was something unheard of. Now still airing three times a week that is more then any other show. However I really like the format, but I think that they could mix the formats.

The BBUS format would be amazing if it had live evictions with phone - in's. OMG. That would be amazing!
I think that possibly they should attempt it, but it would require airing it like every day.
Thursday: Live Eviction and HOH
Friday: Live Nominations (Hoh only noms 1 person and the rest of the house votes in the diary room)
Saturday: daily show
Sunday: in the afternoon special veto show, at night daily show
Monday: daily show
Tuesday: Live Veto Ceremony, phone lines open afterwards. In the event veto is used if more then 2 are already nominated then just the one saved comes off. The HOH chooses the replacement if only one is left.
Wednesday: Daily show

Who ?
I think that it's the only CBB in the world where we can have some A-listers ! Some big celebrities, known around the world. Please not Z-listers, please !
Bob Saget played Danny on Full House (Probably the best comedy ever, but it aired on ABC), is the current host of 1VS100(on NBC), and is a comedian. Bill O'Reily is the host of O'Reily Factor on Fox News. It is the most watched program on a cable news channel. Personally I can't stand him, but many Republican Conservatives adore him. Glenn Beck is also a conservative and is the host the 3rd most listened to news radio program. He also hosts a talk show on CNN Headline News. Both have created numerous controversy for statements they have made.

I think that would work. It would be good to watch. Ive only started getting into BBUS.
A-listers... haha, we'll be lucky if we get Gary Coleman...
I think that CBS could get A-listers due to the fact that the actors won't have a job and will need money. I don't think that it will be celeb, since they are having casting calls.
CBS has updated the deadline for the application.
"At this point there is no absolute application deadline. However, Producers reserve the right to stop accepting applications without notice so Producers highly encourage applicants to submit applications as soon as possible. Semi-finalist interviews will be determined by Producers at their sole discretion."
Before the deadline was in April. So this now makes it even more likely for a winter/spring launch. NBC has announced plans to air Clash of the Choirs to have 5 famous singers lead a choir and the best choir will win from the American vote. The prize is a type of charity prize. That will air every day from the 17th to 22nd with Monday and Wednesday will have two hour long editions. This will go directly against Duel on ABC. Based on the French game show this will that Monday through Friday and then also on the following Sunday. Duel mixes traditional quiz with gambling. Duel seems much more interesting.

Well I did hope something about fabruary would have been revealed !
They still don't know when the strike will end so they can't set a date until it gets closer, but here is an article in the New York Daily News.
he writers' strike has CBS ramping up for a new season of "Big Brother."
Indeed, the network will be casting for new players here Sunday in anticipation of getting a winter edition of the summer show rolling early next year, should the strike continue.
"We have been told by CBS to get ready for anything, so there's nothing that is certain at this point," "Big Brother" executive producer Allison Grodner told the Daily News yesterday. "It is a wait-and-see. We are preparing for anything."
New York auditions are taking place Sunday at 243 W. 30th St., third floor, from noon to 8 p.m., and on Dec. 1 at Duff's Brooklyn, at N. Third St. and Kent Ave., from 7 to 10 p.m.
"Big Brother" has always been a summer staple, but the opportunity for a prime midseason premiere means producers will be pulling out all the stops.
"We really want it to stand out," said Grodner. "We want it to be special, because we've never done something like this before. I promise you it will be different from any other 'Big Brother' you've ever seen."
So don't expect another "America's Player," the stunt incorporated last summer that gave viewers a say in the outcome.
"That's really hard to do twice," Grodner said. "Anyone coming to be a part of 'Big Brother' this year would know about it and we'd hate to have people act differently because they think that the viewers are in control. ... That doesn't mean that it couldn't return in some other way, but doing exactly what we did again, no."
Longtime "Big Brother" host Julie Chen will also be returning to the program, regardless of whether it comes back midseason or next summer.

Some bad news for big brother, Writers have agreed to return to the negotiation table on the 26th, four days after Thanksgiving. Perhaps all of them will be in the holiday mood.

CBS has launched a casting ad, I don't actually remember if there have ever been any, I just remember one for bb8 which is very similar to this one. One interesting thing is that they don't have a number in the house, like they usually do.
http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=6ykp2x5&s=1
Here is a brief report on the casting call in South Carolina yesterday. I think that big brother would miss a golden oppurtunity to cast the former Miss Gay American.
People from all over came to the News19 studio Saturday morning to show off their personalities and audition for the reality CBS t.v. show, "Big Brother."
The line began forming outside before 8:30 a.m. The first person in line was Victoria Pratt, of Columbia. Pratt said it's been her dream to be on "Big Brother" since the very first season. Pratt says, "I'm gonna be on 'Big Brother.' I'm gonna walk in that house and shake it up."
People from a wide variety of backgrounds auditioned for the 9th season of the show. Some of the people were teachers, college students, funeral directions and even a former Miss Gay American.

I think that the next season must be "Big Brother 8". I don't understand why a All-Stars season has been counted as another season with anonymous housemates.
BB, BB: All-Stars, BB Teen and Celebrity are different formats from Big Brother.

I would love a season in February but if it means that writing strike going on longer I'm afraid I'd have to say I'd rather just wait for BB9 in the summer, because with the strike going on there's lots of great shows that won't be on, the main one being Lost.
I see that Lost is still huge in the UK. It still gets very strong ratings here in the states, but due to the constant movements and delay of launches and only airing a few episodes and then just stopping ratings have steadily declined. I never understood the obsession with the show.

Yeah ABC really messed it up in the schedules last series which effected the ratings, same with Heroes on NBC. If you watched the show from the beginning and stayed loyal to it you'd understand the mad obsession. :D It's really intriguing, with so much mystery and a great set of characters, just a brilliant show.
Yeah I have friends that are obsessed with it and I don't understand why just like they don't understand my thing with big brother.

I hope we will get some official news very very soon !!!
The WGA were offered a deal that would have increased their pay by about 10%, but said nothing about money for internet views, and they rejected it. So the strike is in full swing. Apparently those that mailed in their auditions were informed that they had made it to the semi finals yesterday. There are many casting calls today and Dec. 8 is the final day for casting calls. Also Joey Buttafuoco went to the Los Angeles casting call.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joey_Buttafuoco
Alison Grodner did another interview and revealed that if the midseason edition goes forward it would likely have 12 or 14 houseguests.
"Big Brother" Producer Heeding the Call from CBS
by Marilyn Beck & Stacy Jenel Smith
11/26/2007
"BIG BROTHER" IS BEING WATCHED: With CBS's "Big Brother" holding open casting calls here, there and 'most everywhere around the country, producer Allison Grodner tells us, "We're just being told to be ready — that CBS is looking at an earlier 'Big Brother' than normal. It's usually a summer show. Now it looks like we'll be doing a winter edition."
Indeed. Thousands of hopefuls have already shown up for calls in Los Angeles, New York and South Carolina. Ahead are calls in Chicago, Kansas City, Atlanta, Oregon, Tampa, Columbus, another New York date and more, all through Saturday (Dec. 1), for a cast of "12 to 14 in the 'Big Brother' house," as Grodner says.
As the Writers Guild strike goes on, such fare is an obvious option for networks. Typically, the parts of reality shows that are scripted are written by non-union writers, so they remain unaffected by the guild's actions. Grodner is well aware many consider the writers' loss to be reality's gain, but she says, "My feeling is that a work stoppage is not good for anyone." She also says, "I have a business where I continue to develop shows, and certainly I talked to CBS about doing other shows before the strike.
Reality and alternative shows are already such a big part of the television landscape that it's not so much a matter of there being new productions as of these shows being used to fill multiple time slots."
The winter edition, "Big Brother 9," will likely have some season-specific twists. "I think it would be in the show's best interests to make sure a midseason event is different from a summer event," Grodner says. "But the things people like will continue to be a part of it — the social and psychological dynamic, the soap opera feel of it all."
from: http://forums.jokersupdates.com/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Board=bbnewsandrumors&Number=7584977
I would imagine that since it so late in the game the midseason one will go on since, it is now day 27 for the strike.

Indeed, the biggest strike shift at CBS is the scheduling of "Big Brother" three nights a week. The Eye had been mulling the idea for the past month (Daily Variety, Nov. 7).
Ninth installment of the summer staple will make its bow Feb. 12, at 9 p.m. (serving as a lead-in for "Jericho"). Julie Chen-hosted reality skein will also air Wednesday and Sunday nights at 8.
While the Tuesday edition of "Brother" displaces scripted series "The Unit," the Wednesday and Sunday episodes take the place of reality shows -- "Kid Nation" and "The Amazing Race" -- that will have wrapped their respective runs by February.
Winter air pattern for "Brother" is also very similar to the skein's summer sked, in which episodes run on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights. Eye is still planning a summer edition of "Brother."

I'm super excited, but Brother will be taking the brunt of a lot of programming. So far only FOX and CBS have really described their plans for early '08. NBC has said some and ABC has said even less, but here is how the schedule will look for it.
Sundays at 9/8ct
ABC: (most likely) Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (new eps)
Fox: Simpsons and King of the Hill (will possibly be new, since they are done well in advance.)
NBC: Who knows (Was supposed to be a new scripted program, but has few eps done, so nothing as of yet)
Sundays could be Brother's day to shine as currently it would be the only new offering other then the comedies if they are and possibly Extreme Makeover, since ABC's dramas would be repeats.
Tuesdays at 9/8ct
FOX: House with Idol as it's lead in (House is already basically the most watched scripted show). Beginning April 1 Hell's Kitchen (without a lead in Kitchen already does better)
ABC: Who knows, but traditionally Dancing With The Stars (the 2nd most watched show) has aired in this time slot to avoid Idol.
NBC: 2 Hour editions of Biggest Loser (I think Brother can beat it since it also has to air against Idol and most viewers won't watch the 1st hour)
Also on Tuesday: Idol (the most watched show)
Wednesdays at 8/7ct
Fox: American Idol (for an entire month, not good) then new controversial game show Moment of truth (is already being advertised like crazy by FOX (it does look interesting, but it is FOX and they usually mess up a ton of stuff and I hope it bombs to save Brother, but that could just mean more Idol against it)
ABC: Who Knows, but currently is the most talked about new show "Pushing Daisies, but it will be out of new eps by then.
NBC: Repeats of Law and Order: Criminal Intent (first time on NBC, but now they air first run on NBC's cable sister channel USA)
Also on Wednesdays is Law and Order new episodes.
Big Brother may have it's work cut out for it. I've heard based on people who auditioned that they will be pulling out all the stops and there will be a ton of alcohol (auditioners managed to realize that there would be enemies in the house last year, but thought it would focus on high school rivals.)

Yeah it's both bad and good though, the writers strike going on means we get BBUSA early which is good but it also means Lost will only have 8 episodes.
Also I hope in BB9 all the housemates are strangers and don't already know each other.

I agree Redmond, I hope they really are strangers this time! You don't need to stir it up by throwing in people who hate/know each other to make a great series, look at BB2.
MarkWaldorf
04-12-2007, 10:29 PM
They've been doing the twists for ages now. I only started watching during BB4, so I can't comment on how well it worked with strangers, but it was probably better.

Yeah BB2 and BB3 are great series, out of the ones I've seen they are my favourites and they were all strangers. I've yet to watch BB4 and BB6. And Allstars.
I personally think that BB4 and BB7 were the worst 2 American ones, but a lot loved All Stars and everyone tends to agree that 4 was bad.
I think that since the semi finals already began yesterday, I am thinking that we'll get strangers. This site has a list of rumors, I like them, although I would take nothing more then with a grain of salt.
***Big Brother 9 After Dark is getting axed in favor of a having Sequester house filmed. The sequester house will be filmed by a regular TV crew it will not be a 24Hour live feed. The show will air on ShowTime from midnight to 3 AM on a daily basis.
***In a recent interview with Alison Grodner it was confirmed that there will be no America’s player. “That’s really hard to do twice,” Grodner said. “Anyone coming to be a part of ‘Big Brother’ this year would know about it and we’d hate to have people act differently because they think that the viewers are in control. … That doesn’t mean that it couldn’t return in some other way, but doing exactly what we did again, no.”
***There will be no link between the players.
***Due to last seasons prolific rule breaking Big Brother 9 may institute a 3 Strikes rule, and any contestant who knowingly or unknowingly breaks 3 of the golden rules, is called to the DR and summarily dumped without a word to the other HGs, then replaced by an alternate HG. Strict lights out policy and wake up times. Serious regimentation. Chores. Etc…. Almost to the point where the season would be referred to as Big Brother Boot Camp.
***Go back to the nominees picking someone they want to play them in the POV, as opposed the picking a “blessed by god ping pong ball”. If that person the nominee selected wins the Power of Veto they have to take you off the block.
***Outgoing Head of Household is allowed to play for the following weeks HOH
***Big Brother 10 will start in June and be made up of semi popular movie stars. Rob and Amber Mariano are rumored once again to be casted on Big Brother 10

Big Brother 9 USA will be airing in the more competitive winter for the first time ever due to the writer's strike. They've start things off great. As usual the ads premiered during the finale of Survivor, here are the first 2.

They have All American Rejects performing for crying out loud!!!! The scene with the girl saying "I have a secret" "a dirty one". By far the best ad ever for bbUSA.
If you compare to last year's first commercial they have made leaps and bounds.

That is how most of them usually are, but we also have a new logo!!! I love the new logo!! Sadly that clip of Julie I do believe is from last year's in the first one and I know that the second one is from last year's series of ads. February 12 is getting ever closer.

Season 6 was the best series surely? I've seen every season apart from Allstars which I'm currently watching, but Season 6 was brilliant it had some of the best housemates ever in Janelle, Howie, Kaysar and James and then it had a proper group that everyone hated in the Nerd Herd. It was the most divided house in BB history and every comp was tense, it had great tasks, great arguments and great fun. And probably the best finale night even though the final two were crap, but the live crowd was great, especially their hate for the Nerd Herd and love for Howie, Kaysar and Janie.
BB2 is a close second, followed by BB3, but in terms of an all round season I have to give it to BB6. Worst series are BB4 and BB5..especially BB5, crap twist and a lot of dull housemates apart from Jase, Diane and Nakomis.

Wasn't BB6 one of the most popular series ratings wise too? I'm guessing it would have been even better to watch it at the time it was airing because America seemed to get really involved with it, I know the forums absolutely detested the Nerd Herd.
I'm currently watching All-Stars and I'm really liking it, it may not be quite as entertaining as other series but it's great having all the best players in the house interacting with each other. Although why Boogie and Chicken George ever got chosen to go back is beyond me.

Most watched
Big Brother 3
Big Brother 4
Big Brother 1
Big Brother 5
Big Brother 2
Big Brother 6
Big Brother 8
Big Brother 7

But those are pretty high ratings, I always assumed that hardly anybody watched the show but I suppose it would've been canceled by now if that was the case.

Yeah that's pretty good. American Idol dominates though by the looks of it.
Yes American Idol and Dancing with the stars are the 2 most watched shows of anything in America.

That's the full video for the All American Rejects song that's been used for BB9. It's quite good and they all have different secrets held up on the cards, so if the producers are going for something like that then it could be like that 'secrets' twist from Secret Story.

I absolutely cannot wait for this new upcoming early Winter season of Big Brother. It seems the twist is everyone has a secret in the house. America's Player will not be returning as an element of the game.

Although I know that season 7 did a little better then usual with the demos of 18-49. Big Brother 1 rated quite strongly actually and as far as I know Big Brother 2 was the most watched finale.
Well over at Survivor Sucks, the overall ratings were listed in order as:
1. Big Brother 8

Really I thought big brother 5 rated extremely well, although it did have to air against the Olympics. That was quite a busy summer for me trying to watch the Olympics and also all the big brothers. It's gonna be that way again this summer and having no life. Could you give me a link to survivor sucks' page that says that?
So I did some searching and from what I could find BB8 did 4% worse then bb7 did for the season, so I don't understand how bb8 rates highest, perhaps in the demos, but I would really like to see the link.

Didn't BB8's rating increase nightly? I'm sure they rose from week to week, that could have something to do with it.
Found the ratings for BB8: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Brother_8_%28US%29 near the bottom of the page.

BB9 may only run for 6 weeks!
18. Big Brother (CBS, Feb. 12): Because the writers' strike rages on, the Eye net has prepared a winter edition of this summer reality staple. Rumor has it that this ninth edition may run just six weeks, instead of the usual three months. Casting is currently under way!

Could I ask a question? What is America's Player?
Ruth*Star
31-12-2007, 02:26 PM
Americas player is someone who does tasks set by big brother but he doesn't just do them, the public vote for the housemate he does them on like "Vote for a houseguest that Eric has to give a Teddy Too" and they vote for someone, which was Jess since Jess was Erics (BB8's AP) love intrest, and they vote for which houseguest Eric evicts and which hg he trys to get nominated, I personally think Dick and Dani wouldn't have got to the final if it wasn't for Eric Well america.
Here's a better explanation
America's Choice
America's Choice allows the viewing public to select a HouseGuest to receive a special opportunity not available to other HouseGuests. Voting is done through the CBS website and text messaging. Though HouseGuests do not actively compete for the reward, it is essentially a reward based on viewers' opinions of the HouseGuests. America's Choice contests begin midway through each season and occur weekly. Previous contests have allowed HouseGuests to make a mobile phone call to family, have a walk-on role for a CBS soap opera, and conduct an internet chat with fans. In season six, the first America's Choice contest was to vote a previously evicted HouseGuest back into the house. America's Choice is not always a choice between contestants to earn a special opportunity. Sometimes viewers are asked what challenge the HouseGuests should play or what kind of appliance would be given to the HouseGuests. In season eight, America's Choice spun off into America's Player, where Eric was chosen to fulfill tasks voted on by the public for financial reward.

Big Brother After Dark Returns and this article also confirms that BB9 will last the three full months! :D
Showtime Greenlights a Second Installment of
Big Brother: After Dark, an exclusive live three hour feed of the first winter edition of the CBS hit reality series BIG BROTHER starting Tuesday, February 12th at 12:00 AM ET/PT on SHO2
LOS ANGELES, CA – (January 8, 2008) – CBS and Showtime will once again partner to bring viewers Big Brother: After Dark, an exclusive, live televised look inside the BIG BROTHER house after the network prime-time cameras have been turned off. Big Brother: After Dark will feature a live television feed from the "Big Brother" house for three hours (12:00–3:00 AM, ET/PT), seven days a week, on the cable network's SHO2 multiplex channel beginning Tuesday, February 12th at 12:00 AM ET/PT. The announcement was made today by Robert Greenblatt, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc.
“Big Brother: After Dark was a big success for us at bringing an audience to very late night time periods on SHO2. This began as an experiment with our friends at Endemol and CBS, and I'm happy that it worked so well for all of us,” said Greenblatt. “I'm amazed at how much curiosity there is about what goes on in the Big Brother house after the lights are out, but what better place to present that than on SHOWTIME where we have a lot of on-air real estate in the wee hours of the morning.”
The first winter edition of BIG BROTHER will premiere on CBS Tuesday, February 12th and air every Tuesday at 9:00 PM ET/PT, Wednesday at 8:00 PM ET/PT and Sunday at 8:00 PM ET/PT. The series follows the relationships and conflicts of players who live together in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones recording their every move 24 hours a day. One by one, the houseguests will vote each other out of the house. At the end of three months, the last remaining houseguest will receive the grand prize.

Talk of potential housemates from Reality BBQ.com:
Alright, so I went to the open call in Atlanta and while I did not get a call back, I can share a tidbit that makes me think this secret thing may have some validity.
In my group of 5, there was a girl, a blonde model from Atlanta and she mentioned something like "I am dating 2 guys - one knows and the other doesn't know" after she said this one of the casting people stopped her and said "don't tell the rest of what the other guy doesn't know in front of everyone else". After we were all dismissed, she was asked too stay behind.
There was a gay guy in my group who I walked out with and I wondered aloud what was up with her and what was the big secret. The gay guy told me she was a ****** - a friend of his knew her and he told her to come to the open call.
She mentioned she had never seen the show, knew nothing about it all, and just because of her "secret" I am 99% positive she got a call back and would not be surprised to see her on the show. She was really pretty but I HATE HATE HATE that another know nothing about the game dumb bitch may be getting on because she has some sort of overexaggerated "secret". Even though I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to blow her spot up - I won't mention her name - I can PM it to Aero or SoA and when we know they are sequestered I will post it. Again, she may not be on - but they made a big deal of her not spilling her "secret" in front of the rest of us and y'all KNOW a beautiful blonde ****** from the South who grew up on a farm and knows nothing about BB is the kind of **** these dumb casting idiots drool over.
They did ask all of us if we had something interesting to tell them about ourselves "that no one knows about." So, having been through the casting and hearing other people's stories - I am inclined to believe there is something to this.

"CBS Interactive seeks a multimedia producer to work as an editor on Big Brother 9 content.
Please respond only if you are able to make a full commitment for the duration of the show: Feb 10th - late April. Include resume and video links (not required) in response, thanks."

Also Julie is going on the Late Show with David Letterman tomorrow. "Wednesday, Jan. 23 - Julie Chen, host of the CBS reality series "Big Brother"; musical guests The Redwalls"

It will depend in Florida where you will be. Nearly all of Florida is in the Eastern Time zone (Thats where all the vacation spots are Miami & Orlando are all there. if you are going to Disney World, Sea World, or Universal Studios that is all in the east.)
Tuesdays at 9 Eastern/8Central
Wednesdays at 8 Eastern/7Central
Sundays at 8 Eastern/7Central

Here's what the house looks like, from RealityBBQ.com:
The extras are in the house right now getting everything working and ready for February 12th, but we can give you an inside view of what the house looks like!
The house is extremely colourful - so colourful that it might take us time to get used to.
The living room and kitchen are decorated like a winter cabin “on crack” - logs and stones, like the wallpaper on the third level during BB8 - to match the winter season. They even have that basementesque white birch mural paper up in the Diary Room! Ick. The living room also sports a circular couch for the big happy HG family.
The third level is no longer the log wallpaper and is bookshelf wallpaper. I sense themes… everywhere.
The HoH room has a surfer theme - gnarly, dude! The other bedrooms have low walls which divide up a little bit of individual space for the HG - great idea! One room has a nautical them! Fun.
The backyard now sports a firepit to keep the HG warm on the frosty winter nights. The pool is also heated now!
Cool, thanks Redmond. I can't wait to see the pictures.

Last month a bunch of reporters spent a day in the new BB9 house and now the first report of what went on in there is out.
www.theinsideronline.com (http://www.theinsideronline.com) Has an exclusive video of their reporter Cheryl Woodcock inside the house, competing in HOH and POV's comps. The house has a very winter type theme and looks like a log cabin.
There are also some screencap pics of the house on my BB Blog at myspace.com/bigbrotherslittlepod (http://www.myspace.com/bigbrotherslittlepod)

Looks like the housemates have been paired up with a soulmate in some type of match-making theme.

It still seems like they'll all be strangers though. But what is interesting is it says "they'll be evicted together", does that mean it will be a double eviction every week?

Oh sounds good.
At the end it has a heart where the nine normally is. Think that means something?

I noticed that too, it may means that, as they are "soulmates", they will have to love each other.

It's because it's near Valentines Day probably. I hope they don't already know each other and I hope they don't have to play the full game as a pair. I don't mind if its just for the first couple of weeks, but then after that goes into the proper game.
What happened to the Dirty Little Secret theme? Maybe the people that are paired up have a similar secret?
