Fear of fish is suprisingly common actually, or so im told, its because ppl dont actually recognise it as so called 'fear'.

Having a fear of fish meanst that i defineatly cant eat them cos they make me sick. not physically sick but mentall. I cant go near the fish counter in the shops other wise i freak out. I cant go swimming in the sea or somtimes in public pools cos it somtimes frightens me.

Yeh it can be hard but iv learned to live with it. I suppose it doesnt help i work in a supermarket and i somtimes have to put fish through my till lol.

It's not so much of a phobia...but I hate rock climbing. I always see myself falling/losing balance. This applies to anything by a cliff/etc.

OMG no i cant stand that either lol. but as long as im a fair distance away from the tank then im. i get nervous if i see them but as long as im not that close than its ok.

My sister bought two goldfish once and i NEVER went in her room cos they scared me lol.

People on Stilts, I can't be near anyone on Stilts it really scares me lol give me spiders, heights anyday, but that lol.

Having a phobia of fish is rather common. My friend is completely freaked out by them. She can't go near them in the supermarket. She cannot watch the links dry advert with the man with the fish uder his armpits lol. She says it's the scales and eyes. She also has a phobia of pigeons.

I don't think I have any real phobias. I suppose really big spiders freak me out.

I think phobia's a strong word, I often get the feeling people throw it around when they're just a little scared of something...

Having a panic attack when you see a spider, or crying yourself to sleep if someone insisted you sleep in the dark etc would be more accurate.

Not just "Oh I don't like this, it's a little frightening."

What I suffer from:

Anuptaphobia - Fear of being single, especially when im older.
Gerascophobia- Fear of growing old.
Necrophobia - Slight case of it.

Random Phobia's:

Atomosophobia - Fear of atomic explosions, lol..I just put that in for comedy purposes, as im willing to bet everyone has a phobia of those. Although in all seriousness, it probably applies to people who are paranoid that there will be an atomic explosion.

Barophobia - Fear of gravity, must be pretty hard to deal with >_< as well as Cathisophobia- Fear of sitting and Heliophobia- Fear of the sun..

Not to mention Cyberphobia- Fear of computers or working on a computer, wouldn't go down too well with a few people here.

One that Sunshine30 wouldn't like to have:

Gallophobia or Galiophobia- Fear France or French culture. (Francophobia)

One that I wouldn't like to have:

Genophobia- Fear of sex.

Comedy Phobia:

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words.

Ive inherited my fear from my mam but now my phobia is actually worse than hers.It stems from a time when i was around 6 years old and we were on a bus trip to light water valley (a theme park) and there was this huge moth at the back of the bus where we were sat.I dont know why im so scared of them but they freak the **** out of me worse than any other insect but I hate anything with wings tbh and any other insect also.

It's horrible isnt it.
And my friends exploit my phobia and send me pictures in emails and stuff. I get so scared.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention arachnophobia. Although I think I have a fear of ALL insects. I can't even watch a tarantula on a TV screen without panicking and twitching (it was on the Peter Serafinowicz show last week, and I hated it :sad:)

rank isnt it.Im not scared of insects on tv screens or in books its just when there actually in front of me.Omg and when there moving!even worse.I hate the way the fly or crawl........it goes through me the thought and sight of it.
I also had toads erugh im petrified of them,becuase once about 2 years back i opened my front door at night,it had been raining really bad and there were these two toads (one was on the back of the other one!!) crawling up my doorstep towards the door.Arrrgggghhh,it was so freaky!!

Vom*t - I run a mile, it makes me feel panicky if someone says they just feel queasy. This is a real phobia as well it is called Emetaphobia so they say, I go no-where without anti emetics in case I feel sick I cant describe to you the sheer panic I go through.

This made sound extremely weird but I get freaked out if I see a pair of flip flops on the floor on their own, ie not on the feet!! If I see them I have to hide them away but im absolutely fine if someone is wearing them.

I hate enclosed spaces,lifts ,a busy area full of people,i sleep with my bedroom door open.I can't sit in the back seat of a car especially if it is a 2 door car.It's the feeling of being trapped.
