how do I make a banner?

I am getting fed up of doing banners on paint so please help me [free if you can]!

Photofiltre
Paint
Paintshop pro
Photoshop (Trial)
Fireworks (Trial)

I have photoshop, but its the biggest waste ever. I stil dont have a clue how to use it, and Ive had it for 3 months! :conf2:

Paint.NET is a good programme to use

GIMP or Photoplus.

Both free, and decent.
GIMP's slightly harder, but much better.
It's pretty much photoshop.

I havent actually used photofiltre before. I just heard of it. :conf2: You should ask Conzors. I think he uses it.
