Twins Sam & Amanda at Pinewood for 24hr Scuba Dive [Film, Commercial, TV]

Big Brother twins Sam and Amanda took part in a 24hr scuba dive at Pinewood Studios last weekend in aid of Children in Need. The dive organised by Reef Scuba and supported by Diving Services UK took place in the studios 18 metre long, permanently filled, underwater filming tank.

The nation’s favourite twins were trained on-site at Pinewood before making a glamorous entrance in their matching pink wetsuits and all-pink dive equipment. Sam and Amanda join stars such as Daniel Craig, Keira Knightley, Take That and Mc Fly who have all previously worked underwater on the stage.

The event saw tag teams of divers take it in turns to be sub-merged under water continuously for 24 hours. Divers were also challenged to complete a series of underwater events including underwater ballroom dancing in full ballroom dress and underwater space-hopper racing.

Managed by Diving Services UK, the Underwater Stage at Pinewood is a globally unique filming facility that has played host to a variety of film, TV and commercial productions since Gordon Brown opened the stage in 2005. Previous productions include Atonement, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Stardust, Da Vinci Code Eastenders, New Tricks, Little Britain, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Dr Who amongst others.

BBC Children in Need's mission is to positively change the lives of children and young people living in the UK who have suffered hardships, difficulties or disadvantage of some kind.

BBC Children in Need returns on Friday 16 November at 7pm on BBC One. To donate call 0845 733 2233 or go to bbc.co.uk/pudsey.
