The Spice Girls are back — and so are rumors of diva-like antics and in-fighting!
But Melanie Chisholm, a.k.a. Sporty Spice or Mel C., says the stories are nothing but “a load of crap.”
“We’ve never been divas,” Chisholm told Reuters. “Our reputation in the business is that we all work very hard and we know that we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for everybody who was involved in our project.”
Nearly a decade after the five-member group became four — when Geri Halliwell left Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham — the Spice Girls reunited for a greatest hits album, released this week, and a world reunion tour, starting in Vancouver on Dec. 2. They will also perform at the Victoria Secret’s fashion show in Hollywood this week.
“We’re nervous,” Chisholm said. “It’s quite surreal, but everything has come flooding back, all of the songs, and being with each other and rehearsing together, it just feels very comfortable.”
“We have got nothing to prove,” she said. “We just want to come back and live out the good old days.”
