TELLY bosses are secretly plotting a Welsh version of Celebrity Big Brother.
Some of the princi-pality’s biggest names are being lined up to spend two weeks in a remote cottage in sheep country.

Among those expected to be confirmed are Ruth Madoc star of comedy classic Hi-de-Hi! and Steps singer Faye Tozer.

Producers of the hit show have also approached Voice of an Angel singer Charlotte Church and her ex-boyfriend Steven Johnson.

But it may not be a massive ratings hit — as the inhabitants will have to spend their time wrestling with the Welsh language.

A show insider said: “There will be no Celebrity Big Brother this year, so this is the nearest thing we’ve got to it. The stars will be locked in a special house in North Wales and will spend their time learning the language.

“This may not appeal to the whole nation, but will be popular with Welsh viewers.”

Cardiff-based S4C plan to screen the show later in the year. It is meant as a bit of fun. But stuffy owners of the original Big Brother format are keeping a close eye on events.

A spokesman for Welsh Big Brother said: “The celebrities will be filmed living under the same roof — but they will be there to learn Welsh.”

Oh, this would be wonderful indeed for someone who couldn't remember the words to:

Geiriau Cymraeg

Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi,

Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri;

Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mad,

Tros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed.

Cytgan:

Gwlad, gwlad, pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad.

Tra mor yn fur i'r bur hoff bau,

O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau.

Hen Gymru fynyddig, paradwys y bardd,

Pob dyffryn, pob clogwyn i'm golwg sydd hardd;

Trwy deimlad gwladgarol, mor swynol yw si

Ei nentydd, afonydd, i mi.

Os treisiodd y gelyn fy ngwlad tan ei droed,

Mae hen iaith y Cymry mor fyw ag erioed,

Ni luddiwyd yr awen gan erchyll law brad.

Na thelyn berseiniol fy ngwlad

DON'T YOU THINK, TOGGY-WHOG?
