I'm A Celebrity ex-footballer Rodney Marsh rushed to hospital after jungle fallSexist footballer Rodney Marsh hobbled out of the jungle with the help of the women in the I'm A Celebrity camp and straight to hospital after falling over and injuring his leg.

After slipping on a small hill, the man whose sexist views have sparked rows in the ITV reality show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! had the female celebrities rushing to his aid.

The former footballer is now hidden in a secure location while he recovers. TV bosses are preventing him coming into contact with the outside world so they can reintroduce him to the jungle.

Marsh, 63, was collecting wood for the camp together with Anna Ryder Richardson when he stumbled in the Australian bush.

The ex-Changing Rooms presenter helped him out before running back to fetch more celebrities from the camp.

Ex-EastEnder Marc Bannerman was first to get back to Marsh, while former model Janice Dickinson also rushed to his aid.

They helped out the ex-pundit, sacked as a football pundit for making a joke about the Tsunami.

However, pride came after his fall and as he was helped off the scene, an embarrassed Marsh shouted: "I'm not going on a stretcher. I've got people watching in England.

"As a footballer you know when you've been injured and it's my knee. It's definitely gone."

An ITV spokesman said: "Rodney strained a ligament whilst collecting wood earlier this evening.

"He was attended to by medics on site and sent to hospital as a precautionary measure.

"They discharged him immediately and he is recuperating overnight under lock down conditions at a secure location.

"He will be reassessed in the morning as to when he can rejoin the camp."

The former Manchester City striker sparked trouble last week with his politically incorrect views.

Marsh claimed he would never get on a plane with a female pilot and that women make too much fuss in childbirth. He also asked: "Would you fly on a plane flown by two women? They would be putting their lipstick on in the wing mirror and all that."

Earlier, Marsh told how a woman collapsed in tears at a business conference.

He told PR guru Lynne Franks: "You wouldn't see a man breaking down like that and sobbing in a meeting like that would you?"

Franks dubbed him a "sexist git".

Sexist git. He is misogynistic but the women helped him get up and were worried about him. The nurses that saw to his leg might have been female too. I doubt he'll change his stern views though.

He's been beaten in a head-to-head Bushtucker Trial by a woman, and in the team-work BT with Janice, it just happened to be the woman who coped with heights the best - wasn't he saying only men are suited to flying aeroplanes (ie. being up at great heights) or words to that effect?
