View Full Version : Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong (Returns Tonight)
Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong
January
Alan Carr, award-winning comedian, and one half of the irrepressible Friday Night Project presenting team, hosts a showbiz bash, with an exclusive guest list, in a new six-part entertainment series. With tongue firmly in cheek, Alan Carr’s Celebrity Ding Dong is the only show on television that pits members of the public against famous faces where both teams can win a slice of the high life.
Dotted between each round, the programme will feature Alan taking a cheeky peek up the skirt of celebrity with a selection of comedy studio items.
Alan Carr can’t wait to prove once and for all that celebs are no better than ordinary folk.
Guests confirmed for the series include Johnny Vegas, Chris Moyles, Louis Walsh and Davina McCall.
From the Channel 4 Winter 07/08 press pack.
This sounds fantastic, I really can't wait... I'm glad Channel 4 have finally given Alan his own show :spin:

All it says in the press release is January. It says Celebrity Ding Dong is one of the 'Season Highlights'
It sounds fantastic. It mentioned it on the Paul O'Grady Show a while back, and he did mention the date but I can't remember it now.
I soo cannot wait for this... Alan's press pic:

If that's Davina's then I have to say she has very nice ones.
Channel 4 have stated in their Autumn 2008 press pack that Celebrity Ding Dong will return for a new series in October.
Alan Carr, co-host of the hugely popular Sunday Night Project, presents the second series of Alan Carr’s Celebrity Ding Dong (October) on Friday nights, with his trademark quick-fire humour. This latest series of the topical showbiz game pits two teams of celebrities against each other for a prize and plenty of fun.
OOO i wonder if it starts on my birhtday.

Oh and they've ditched the civilians, for two teams of celebrities.
Spike

I don't like the idea of 2 teams of celebrities, one of the best things about the show was Alan making fun of the civilians
Can't wait for it to return

I agree. I hope they change their minds again before the show begins.

They had a decent team of celebrities every week last series but I think they will find it hard to get 2 teams of decent celebrities each week without getting some total Z listers.
The first episode of Series 2 airs on October 10th.
Official synopsis from Channel 4:
Following a successful first series at the end of last year Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong returns, but this time with a double dose of celebrities. The award-winning comedian and co-host of the hugely popular Sunday Night Project hosts this topical showbiz game show as two teams of celebrities compete against each other for the winning prize each week. Among the teams, soap stars are pitted against the stars of a rival soap, boy bands take on girl bands and TV doctors and nurses compete against telly cops and robbers, all battling it out to prove who knows the most about the world of celebrity and showbiz gossip. Combining Alan's quick-fire humour with an eclectic mix of celebrities, Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong dishes up a big bowl of fun for Friday nights.

what time is it anyone?
Only five minutes into the first episode and I already think celebrities and civilians was a better format.
The new studio is awful too - what was wrong with the old one?!?!
On the plus side, replacing Leslie Phillips with Peter Dickson was a good move IMO.

I agree, I don't like the all-white background and making fun of the civilians was one of the best parts.
Although, I've never seen nor wanted to see EE or CS., so that could just be me.
D:
I miss the old 'Ding Dong' sound....
