View Full Version : Rhydian pass the puke Bucket

As soon as I heard Danni's comments I just wanted to be sick. What a load of tosh it was utter rubbish.
The song was so boring tonight I just wanted to go to sleep. I even thought of turning over to watch Strictly Coming Dancing. I can see how it is winning in the ratings every time I hear him sing.
If Rhydian wins the show this year I will have no faith in the taste of the British public.

I like his voice but wished he'd loose the hair.
Rhydian was fantastic, though I agree with Red on Dannii's blubbing - it was not necessary

With all these new Opera fans voting for him I'm afraid he is going to make it into the final five.

I thought he was great tonight.
His performance proved to me that even if people feel he doesn't have TXF and don't want him to win, he will become a star regardless. Perhaps not a pop singer, but I will be surprised if he doesn't end up really famous. It's a shame that a lot of XF contestants do tend to disappear into the oblivion once the show is over - but, I have a feeling that won't be the case with Rhydian, and I really hope I'm right.
I'd like to add that I agree with what people are saying about Dannii - it didn't seem genuine and it wasn't really needed.

As long as he can act without showing off I would agree he would be great in Musical Theatre just not on my TV screen.
Boo Boo...... get him off.

I don't think he's a show-off, personality wise. It's more the interpretation the show wishes to give him, I feel.

Rhydian was awesome tonight, he's the reason most people are watching this show, he will win this show and he'll be around for a long time yet. :)
And it's not just Opera fans voting for him, I'm not an opera fan but I think Rhydian is brilliant. As do the hundreds of thousands of people who are viewing his performances on YouTube and other streaming sites.
Whereas all the other acts are lucky to get over 15,000 views. So that shows it's not just opera fans. Fans like Rhydian and his voice.

Then he needs to dump Danni because she isn't doing his image any good.

Why would you think he's a show off? Give examples? I've never seen him be big-headed since the live shows started. He's the most modest person, who never backchats the judges..unlike say Niki for example.

I thought he was amazing tonight, he hit all the notes brilliantly!
Rhydian to win!
Dannii's comments showed her passion and her devotion to her contestant, i thought he was brilliant!

Just goes to show the saying "you can't please all the people all the time" is still valid.
I thought his was performance was dull, boring, uninspiring and unemotional. It was everything a love song shouldn't be.

I think I must be watching a different show :puzzled:
Rydian didnt have any emotion at all. Every week he sings the same boring stuff
He was very boring tonight. It was good lyrically but I wouldn't have called it a performance at all. There was no emotion conveyed at all. I want him to go, and I want him to go before the final. If it were based on "Do you have singing talent?" then Rhydian would, and should win. But it's the X Factor, and people will not buy his records beyond the first one. It would be a travesty if he won. He's going to get a recording contract regardless of where he finishes, I feel, but it's not fair. He is not a pop singer, he can only sing in an operatic style, and it doesn't work. Look at G4. Successful for, admittedly, longer than I thought they would be, but now they've faded into obscurity.

are you watching the same show?
I Would Do Anything For Love, Phantom Of The Opera, Get The Party Started, You Raise Me Up, GO WEST and now Somewhere.
That's the most diverse list of songs that any of the acts have done this series.

Well that's how he sings. Hope, Leon, Niki etc have sang the same every week, they haven't suddenly changed their voice and style. He's a classically trained singer so that's how he's going to sing.

I was hoping someone would mention that. That's true, but, the style the other remaining acts sing in is a commercially successful style. Name an opera singer who's hit number one? There probably are some, but I can't think of any. Can you? You could argue that's one of his strengths, but I'm arguing it's his big weakness. He's just not going to be a pop singer.

I would actually have to agree with you there. He's literally been on a rollercoaster week after week - and that too, unnecessarily in my opinion.

Paul Potts and Russell Watson, no way. I'll give you Charlotte Church, but even then only because she switched to pop singing. Russell Watson hasn't ever topped the pop charts (I could be wrong) and I wasn't aware of Paul even releasing a song. o_o

I totally just thought of Daniel O'Donnell there. Why is he popular? Because old women love him. I can only assume people are voting for Rhydian because they're wowed by the opera style voice. But you'd all find it very same-y listening to him every day on the radio.
Niki was the performance of the night, and I'm not saying it because I am a fan of hers but because she outsung Niki a million and one times over. I don't like the style of classical singers.

Oh definitely, Niki had a couple of offnotes and was still the best of the night.
