X Factor's Rhydian reveals his ginger rootsX Factor star Rhydian Roberts has denied he is a traitor to his ginger roots now that he sports his distinctive bleached blonde look.
But here is the proof that just a few years back - things were a lot different.
The X Factor sensation started off as a curly redhead, but now his peroxide blonde look, and his powerful voice have won him a legion of fans.
The Welsh singer admitted: "I used to be a ginger child. And he added: "I love ginger people. When I grow a beard, it's very much ginger."
An old schoolfriend said: "He was teased a lot because of his ginger looks, but he is a great bloke."
However, despite the childhood teasing, Rhydian said: "It's nice to have a little bit of ginger. If I need it - if they bring ginger back in fashion then I've got a little bit", he added.
"I'm not betraying my ginger roots. Over the years my hair has changed colour, I want to say thankfully, but actually ginger's good."
Now the 24-year-old may have the last laugh - as he has emerged the red-hot favourite to win the talent show.
