Barrymore death worth £7kHE dad of Michael Barrymore party victim Stuart Lubbock has won almost £7,000 compensation.

Terry Lubbock - whose son was found at the home of shamed TV star Michael - said the payout was the first confirmation Stuart’s death was the result of criminal actions

He will receive £6,800 for the tragedy.

In his heyday, Barrymore, 55, earned .£5,400 A DAY from a £2million-a-year golden handcuffs deal with ITV for shows including Strike It Lucky.

The entertainer, 55, is also believed to have been paid £80,000 by Channel 4 for appearing on last year’s Celebrity Big Brother.

Terry now believes the award, from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, will help him get justice for his factory worker son.

Speaking from his home in Harlow, Essex, the 64-year-old said: “I believe this is a turning point in my son’s murder investigation and will prove very significant.

“It confirms my son received criminal injuries. He was the victim of a serious sexual assault.

“This totally blows Stuart’s first inquest out of the water, which stated he accidentally drowned in Barrymore’s pool, and skated over his severe injuries.

“My priority is to campaign for a new inquest.

"My son was raped and killed and my job will not be done until I see someone charged.”

Terry, given the cash for suffering and financial loss, was unable to claim earlier because his son’s death was not considered to be the result of criminal actions.

But a second ongoing inquiry resulted in Essex Police and the Crown Prosecution Service ruling Stuart, 31, suffered injuries inflicted on him by others.

The dad of two was found by the pool at Barrymore’s house in Roydon, Essex, in 2001.

The comic and two other men have been told they will not face charges.
