You'll Never Walk Alone - surely that's just a shameless ploy to get the voters of Liverpool?
It's sad he has to resort to that, and the Welsh vote; he can win this by himself.

I think Dannii and Simon chose You'll Never Walk Alone, the winner of American Idol sang it on the show last year (this year?) apparently, plus it's a show tune and has been sang by many great singers, so I wouldn't just associate it with football. I don't think they thought..."We need people from Liverpool to vote for Rhydian" because then that would put off every where else in the UK.
Rhydian chose Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Good song choices. He'll nail both of those. I'm particularly looking forward to Bridge Over Troubled Water. It's one of my fave songs of all time.

Awful song choices - huge cliches and they'll just be boring and nothing special.

I think they're good choices. Even if they are typical, that's the sort of thing we want to hear from XF contestants really... For example, how they cope with them, whether they make them sound unique/special, and generally we can tell if it's a good performance because we have something to compare them to. I'm looking forward to these performances, mainly because I'm quite sure Rhydian will do really well.

Any excuse for him to belt something out.

Ray sung you'll never walk alone last year and that got him a place in the final!

good song choices personaly i like the first 1 better than the 2nd 1 but i think he will do both pretty well. Any1 know any more on the other three though
Oh god please no! You'll never walk alone should not be touched by anyone, not even Rhydian!
I also think Leona sung Bridge over troubled water but I'm not 100%.

I think Rhydian will do great with both of these songs. I'm glad he's got away from the 'camp' and 'gimmicky' stuff now.

Who should be allowed to sing it then? Just Liverpool fans?

I think he meant it more in the way of that it's a song that nobody can emulate because it's so cherished yet not very good.

All pretty safe for that styleless operatic classically trained voice of his. Then again he could sing anything and people would still vote for him.

That's because he's good and can sing. So what if it's always an operatic style, that's the style he sings in. Just like Leon sings in that old fashioned Michael Buble style every week. Or like Niki belts out her ballads every week or how SD do the cheesy records every week. They all sing the same every week, so I don't know why you pick on Rhydian.

I think they are bith excellent song choices. Rhydian is an amazing singer and is more than capable of doing these 2 songs justice. I'm sorry but I highly doubt than people who aren't from Liverpool will go against Rhydian for singing it. It's originally a showtune.
And I reckon he will be great at Bridge Over Troubled Water. I didn't like Leona's version last year. I thought it was very screechy and she didnt do the song any justice. I know a lot of people will disagree with me but I am not a fan of Leona's in any way.
Nicky.

I dislike Opera singers.
To be honest they all rubbish the whole lot of them. You know that is going to be the case as soon as you know that show has something to do with Simon Cowell. But, what the hell it makes good telly working out which one you dislike the least.

Dont you like any of them?
I personally pick on Rhydian's voice because you can't market that in the pop market. That is what the X Factor is aiming it, the popular music market, hence pop. Opera will never be pop. The other three could be marketed as pop artists, but Rhydian can't.

Not really.
Rydian isn't commercial enough for a pop career and I dislike opera. He might do well for a while off the x factor, record a CD opera type pop songs and sell a few singles but he won't last the course as people will tire of him and his style and he will end up doing something else. One big problem he has is that he has zero street credibility.
Leon is basically too young at the moment and doesn't have the self belief to make it really big. He will take a lot of propping up until he gets that confidence just to get a single CD out. I'm impressed he did the thing at Wembley the other day but I still think he has a long way to go until he is really ready for a big pop career.
Nikki has a great voice but time isn't on her side. There are also a lot of other singers out there with the same style that are younger and more marketable. She reminds me of that women that went on to sing on the cruise liners years ago and I think she will go the same way.
Finally, Same Difference now they clearly appeal to the younger age range from about 9 to 15 and those that are young at heart. The sort of people that like all this High School Musical stuff. I can see where these people come from that think the are fun but they are so so cheesy that they will last a few years and then people will get bored of them and that will be it.
