Atkinson to launch music career

I'm A Celebrity... star Gemma Atkinson has revealed that she is planning a music career.

The 23-year-old, the seventh contestant to leave the jungle, has met industry executives and is expected to fly to the US to start recording.

She told the Daily Star: "I'm working with producers and they're taking me to Nashville to write some songs. I wanted to do something where I learn a bit more about music, rather than just do it because I was in Hollyoaks."

But she vowed that she would not be making cheesy pop records, saying: "There was a rumour it was going to be pop, but it's completely not going to be that. It's going to be something very ballady - soul and R'n'B. Something you can sing to."

She is also thought to have received offers from cosmetic firms asking her to front campaigns in both the UK and US.

Former Queen of the Jungle Kerry Katona recently revealed that she found Atkinson "boring" on the ITV show, accusing her of imitating ex-contestant Myleene Klass by constantly wearing a bikini.

I like Gemma. I think she's a really genuine girl.
Maybe if she's a good singer, i think she'd be good in shows like Jennifer Ellison

She was on Soapstart Superstar. She has a very good singing voice. Because she did drama at School and College she also had singing lesson, that's why most Soap Stars can sing.

I thought she was good BUT does her voice not limit what she can sing, and will that not limit her career as a singer. I always love Heather Smalls voice BUT every song sounded the same because of her distinctive voice!
