I DID TERRIBLY ON X FACTOR - SHARONSharon Osbourne has admitted she did "terribly" on this year's X Factor, but says she definitely wants to stay on the panel.

The 55-year-old saw two of her Under 25 girls get booted off the show - and the third withdrew - long before the semi-finals.

Speaking at a press conference, she said: "I did terribly this year, so as far as my mentoring goes I didn't do very well did I? As far as the dream team for next year, please don't let's change it again - I just want to stay exactly where we are. I think we're a pretty fiery lot, but we can all hold our own."

But Sharon admitted she did live in fear of being sacked like fellow judge Louis Walsh was for a time last year. "I've learnt that you don't make long-term plans in this industry. I never know what's happening. If they want me I'm here," she added.

She also responded to reports of tension between herself and Dannii Minogue, saying: "It's an open playing field. Dannii speaks about me and I speak about her, but yet we both respect each other."

Dannii Minogue said of their reportedly troubled relationship it's all a "game".

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Saturday's final, the 36-year-old singer blamed the media for blowing their rivalry out of proportion.

She said: "So much of it has been created that hasn't been said. We know how the game works, we know what the headlines are going to be and unfortunately you put two women on a show together and people want to see a catfight - I don't understand why it's like that but it is."

Meanwhile, Sharon said negative comments towards Dannii made on the Graham Norton Show were only said during a comedy sketch.

Dannii, whose acts Leon Jackson and Rhydian Roberts will go head-to-head in the final, admitted that her career successes and failures had helped her during her first year on the judging panel. "I take what I do seriously, I think the ups and the downs in my own career give me the tools to do this job and I want the best for these guys. I want to give them the best chance to have a career and travel the world. I feel like a mother to them now."

Bet Sharons wishing she had Steph now. She'd still be there

I doubt Simon will want to sack Sharon because she is a loose cannon and the one that most publicity revolves around. I can't think of one recent story about from Sisi being booted out from Hope and the changes that doesn't involve Sharon in one way. The publicity drew in viewers and thats what X Factor thrives off. As long as Sharon is on the show, there will be publicity.

I doubt Sharon regrets who she put through because I don't think she had a winner there anyway. Her last girl would have got knocked out where Beverley or Hope did. The girls category is just a failure because girls don't usually vote for girls, and its mainly girls that vote.

IMO if Sharon picked the other three girls, she would still have one act there

I think Lady Shiverz would still be in if she hadn't 'left' the show. Sharon is a rubbish mentor. Plain and simple. Remember how she mishandled Maria Lawson? I wouldn't care one way or the other if Simon sacked her. In fact, Simon should keep her on as there's no chance of any of her acts will ever win the competition.

Sharon didnt mishandleMaria. Maria had amazing song choices, but had one mediocre performance.

If she is given a decent category that actually stands a chance of winning like the boys then she could win it. She had the 16-24s in series 1 but people voted for the groups and 25+ for the novelty of it, and since then a 16-24 has won each series and is set to do the same. Sharon also put through 2 girls, and as already said girls don't vote for girls. Tabby also didn't appeal to the mass audience in the way that G4 and Steve would have.

I think Sharon can win it, but she needs a decent category in order to win.

I know, similarly to what happened to Sharon in series 2 with Brenda but more shockingly in series 3 with Ben.

and Cassie!
If Cassie&Tabby hadn't been in the bottom two, Sharon could easily have won that year.

I think Sharon can win it, but she needs a decent category in order to win. Even if she had a decent catergory she'd screw it up somehow. Maria Lawson was a potential winner till Sharon gave he Brown Sugar to sing. You cant blame Sharons rubbish performance on the fact that girls dont vote for girls. That didn't stop Leona winning last year.

To be fair, even if Maria had survived against The Conways, she'd have gone long before the final - none of the winners to date have been in the bottom two, and this will happen again this year. I haven't checked this, but I don't think any of the previous finalists have ever been in the bottom two either, though that could be wrong. Or at least, when I say bottom two, I mean early on. Obviously with previous years, when there are 4 left and 3 places in the final, one of them has to be in the bottom two, but you get what I mean.

I don't think Sharon is a rubbish mentor, I just think she's rubbish at putting through the right people in the first place. She can do well with what she's got, but she's just not great at making decisions like that. That's how I see it.

Andy Ambrahams was in the bottom two.

I agree. Sharon just simply can not spot talent

She should have put Steph through this year. Shouldn't have put Emily through because I don't think Emily was very good at all, though I think she would have probably gotten the furthest of Sharon's girls, perhaps reaching the final 6.

I have just checked.

Andy wasn't in the bottom 2. G4 were in the bottom 2 and Ray was in the bottom 2.
