My Name Is BritneyFIRST Courteney Cox wanted Britney Spears to star on her show - and now My Name is Earl funnyman Jason Lee is courting the troubled singer.

The actor, who plays the title role in the comedy series, has offered the troubled pop princess a chance to resurrect her career by casting her as a redneck.

The US comic wants Brit to re-visit her Southern roots and star as one of Earl's trailer park pals.

Jason, currently starring in Christmas animation Alvin and the Chipmunks, said: "Britney Spears would definitely be one of the people I would love to have on the show.

"I think she would be great."
