A group of young musicians has been chosen as the recipients of the BBC's Fame Academy bursaries.
The five winners will each be assigned a mentor who is considered the best in their chosen field, as well as musical education for up to three years.

The winners include Daniel Allinson, 17, who plays the marimba (a type of xylophone) and violinist David Rimbault, 23.

They will be featured in a programme on BBC One on 21 March.

Fame Academy: The Next Generation follows 20 musicians as they are assessed by experts including Jamie Cullum and Fame Academy coaches David and Carrie Grant.

This is the one thing that makes Fame Academy stand out from the other shows of its type - actually providing talented unknowns with the chance to get the training etc that they need.

Just a reminder that this is on today here's a review from the radio times

Channel: BBC1
Date: Sunday 21 March Time: 4:00pm to 5:00pm

Showing as part of the BBC's Talent Week, this is a film about the almost unsung Fame Academy bursary.

The money from all those phone votes you cast during the series has contributed to a fund that aims to help develop new talent.

Find out how it's working, who it's helping and now also see just who is rising through the ranks to get to compete for a new £37,000 record deal.

Patrick Kielty hosts, and Carrie and David Grant are on hand to help decide who most deserves the cash, while a galaxy of stars, including Sir Paul McCartney, lend their support.

I'm going to watch this (or maybe video it). I think it's going to be good.
