Jamie: 'We're in complete shock'

We just brought you the news that Britney's little sister, 16-year-old Jamie Lynn is pregnant by her long-term boyfriend Casey – and now we can reveal that it came as a total surprise to Jamie Lynn. The Nickelodeon star took a home pregnancy test, then told just one close friend before breaking the news to her family. "I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision," she said. "Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me. It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected.I was in complete and total shock and so was he." Nickelodeon, who produce Jamie's show Zoey 101, have released a statement saying, "We respect Jamie Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."

I hope she makes a better mum than her sister Britney.

I'm quite in shock at this to be honest, as my sister always has Zoey 101 on and it's hard to believe it's her. But best of luck to her and the family, I bet she'll make a great mum.

How could she be "shocked"? She had sex, there was obviously a chance of her getting pregnant, and she took a test so she obviously thought there was a chance that she was pregnant anyway.

That is a shock to me, I love Zoey 101 and it's really hard to think shes pregnant, but I'm sure she'll be a great mom.

you expect most teenage mums to be from rough upbringings and to have less than average living conditions/lifestyle but it just goes to show celebrities are just the liek the rest of us!

Nothing I have read shows that she is actually going to have the baby, she might go for a termination for all we know.

I don't know why she's shocked.. she had unprotected sex and as a result, she's pregnant. But all the best to her, and good on her for facing responcibility.

She said 'most teenage mums', not 'all' and was quite right in saying so...

OK I have seen this report now (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/article600640.ece)

Jamie-Lynn said she will raise her baby in Louisiana "so it can have a normal family life."
