OMG! Number of X Factor complaints top 4500!!

It's the story that won't die – The X Factor complaints just keep on flooding in. ITV said today that it had now recieved 2600 phone calls about Saturday's grand finale – and they show no sign of stopping. Media regulator Ofcom also said that complaints to them had topped 1900. However, ITV were keen to point out that not all the complaints were about not being able to get through to Rhydian's phone lines; some were for Same Difference and Leon. Ooh, when will it end?

This is really doing my head in now, and quite shocking. At first, I was thinking: those complaining are those who voted for him - and because he didn't win, they complain? How ridiculous! But then, thinking about it, this XF result has been really controversial in that Rhydian has been favourite to win for such a long time now - and if not him, Same Difference. So loyal Rhydian supporters must feel outraged, but why complain?

I too was completely shocked because I wanted Rhydian to win, but I know for a fact that a lot of people voted for Leon on final night because of his excellent performances. That's just the way it works! People recognised his progression, the fact that he would benefit more from winning etc., and took it seriously - loyal Rhydian fans cannot accept that. I just don't know what complaining could possibly do. Demanding a re-count is out of the question, not to mention that after all of Leon's celebrating, he's having to face this. I think the two of them just need to get on with it.

Whatever next? Thousands more complainers, but this time complaining about the complainers?

Soon ITV won't be allowed to have any competitions involving phone-votes because this is just one more in a long line of scandals. I haven't complained myself it's over and done with now, but we couldn't get through our vote at the time because of the lines being engaged.

I know people that couldn't get through to vote for Leon. It looks like it was the same for both sets of fans. Like I have said before Leon fans are much less likely to complain because their man won but I'm sure the people at the X Factor would have been so careful to make sure things were fair. No TV company would want a scandal.

What I find sad is the sore losers are going to make it impossible for the TV companies to carry on producing shows like the X Factor, I'm a Celebrity get me out of here, Strictly Come Dancing and Big Brother. Staple shows that we talk about on this site. At some point they will feel it is just too risky to do telephone voting and pull the plug on all the shows.

People might think someone else should have, but the series is all over now, nothing's going to change the past. Gosh, I wish everyone would just accept the fact Leon won.
