This is the place where you can decide what happens on the show. You can get the numbers you need to evict or save a housemate. This time you can also take part in special online votes - keep checking back for more information...

That's taken fro the official site - sounds like they are introducing the save/evict voting.

Thats not complicated...

Viewers can vote to save a evict. When voting closes you take the save votes away from the evict votes and then the housemate with the highest merged vote is evicted.

Its not complicated they just take the votes away from each other.

An explanation of Save/Evict voting for those who don't know it...

The nominated housemates, lets call them Mary, John & Kip, all face eviction and the public can vote to save and evict a housemate.

Let's say the results were...

Mary = 445 save votes & 666 evict votes
John = 478 save voted & 879 evict votes
Kip = 338 save votes & 321 evict votes

You simply take the save votes away from the evict votes meaning the merged votes would be...

Mary: 666-445 = 221
John: 879-478 = 401
Kip: 321-338 = -17

After you take them away the one with the highest merged vote is evicted. So, even though John received the highest save vote - he is still evicted.

I'm too lazy to put it into percentages but hopefully it makes sense.

Great. I hope it will work as it will keep in the good housemates.

Anyway i highly doubt that BB will do that kind of voting it could just mean on some occasion you will be voting to save and on others you are voting to save

Thanks for that Aaron, I've never understood how the merged votes were made on Big Brother Australia.

Thank god they've introduced save this year, better chance of the right person being evicted now.

They can introduce either save or evict but maybe not at the same time. They can do something like in BB7 where Spiral and Michael have been evicted in a vote to save. We don't have an official information about the voting system.
