Do you think after Britney's excessive drug taking and mental state that she should be sectioned under the mental health act to stop her from killing herself/ putting herself or other's in danger?

Yeah, 6 months in rehab nowhere should be good for her. So I guess it can be sectioned under a mental health act.

How about just leaving her alone? On Friday she was sent somewhere where she could actually receive mental help. But did you see the chaos it caused? That isn't going to help her get better.

She's already been to a rehab like 3 times, and it hasn't helped. Even then the press were sneaking in trying to get answers. Maybe staying longer would?

They should leave her alone, she's young.

Thise rehab didn't work because she stayed like 2 weeks and she did what she wanted. A judge should send her far and she should be obligated to stay at least 6 months.

She's got herself into this mess, and it's not anyone's fault but her own. She could easily decide to ignore the press and get on with her life.
It's also her own fault for treating her kids badly. Just because she's a celebrity it doesn't mean she deserves any special treatment. If that was a normal member of the public then they'd have been sectioned by now.

Ignore the press? Lmao. Have you not read that theres loads of police outside her community because the number of press outside is insane. Britney can't ignore that, and neither can the neighbours, because it isn't fair on them. People are now saying it's Britney's fault their there, when anyone with common sense would see she didn't invite them. If people want her to get well, then leave her alone and give her time.

When did she treat her kids badly? She loves being a mum, she would never ever harm her kids. I'm not defending her mistakes as a mum, but there are a lot more worse mothers out there. Some of which actually physically and purposely harm their kids. And as you said, any normal member of the public would face the consequences. Britney has. Her kids were taken away, and she's in court every other week. No special treatment there...

Absolutely. She's as mad as a box of frogs. All this talk of leaving her alone would only be valid if she thought along the same lines. Britney courts the press so the press follow her. It's a lifestyle choice that she now has to live with.

Look at how much she loves courting the press in this (http://bazzeroo.proboards54.com/index.cgi?board=genmusnews&action=display&thread=1199788375) video.

As her life goes into a downwards spiral I am changing my view on Britney. I feel incredibly sorry for her. Yes she has courted the paparazzi and used them when she wanted something promoted so she shouldnt really grumble about press invasion. However, she has been in the entertainment business for 14 years and hasnt really had much of a childhood.

I personally think that her meltdown shouldnt be swarmed upon because I think that she has mental issues. Its nothing to be ashamed of. Its surprising how many people are plagued with such issues.

I think she is torn between 'Bitch' Britney and 'Mommy' Britney. She wants to be both and one day she can be on of those and the next day wake up and be the other. And she is torn between the two. She needs to get psychological help and fast because if she doesnt then her kids will be taken away from her for good. And no matter how bad you are.... no mother wants to be parted for her children but sectioning her isnt the best thing to be done as it could do more harm than good.

First she cant be sectioned under the mental health act as that is a british act and does not apply in the US. It is not as easy as just whipping someone away to get them into hospital.

Rehab, well they are not mental health assessment clinics to they will not work, especially if she leaves after a few weeks.

Mark I admire that you defend her, but remember she has obviously got mental health problems by anyone's standards and I am not in any way saying they are her own fault. They are however laid bare for all to see.

Having a mental heatl problem is not easy to cope with, it isnt easy admitting you are ill, in fact when you are really poorly you are not even aware that others see you as being ill. Britney needs help, but she has to be ready or have a big enough meltdown which will enable her to take the first steps towards getting that help. If she has at any point been on medication she will possibly have taken them, felt better and stopped which is really common, then you go through the whole process over and over again.

When you are in the grips of any kind of mental health episode it kind of goes between a total obivion where you are unaware of your behaviour to a really scary place where it is difficult to cope with the wolrd and it's perceptions of you. Depression can cause your views of the world to become really narrow and everything feels pretty hopeless.

I really have a huge amount of empathy for this girl, I hope that at some point soon, she is strong enough to accept the help she needs. I hope the press leave her the hell alone, she isnt able to tell them to go away at this point in any kind of meaningful way.

Maybe she need's some help, a theropist or whatever but she doesn't desevre being locked up!!

Even if she has some problems and is having a break down, it doesn't mean she's actually mental! It's not like she's hallucinating or can't tell what's real and not or whatever.

Most people in the celebrity spot light act like she has to a smaller degree and you don't see them all being called mental.

The Americans will have their own laws that legislate mental health.

How do you know she is not having hallucinations, hearing voices or anything else for that matter, only Britney will know that. She needs help, she needs in-patient treatment in my humble opinion to give her time to heal and come to terms with her illness.

We don't know, exactly, and that's why I'm scared for her. Sam Lufti told The View that she has treatable mental problems, which are affecting her sleeping and causing mood swings.

Everyone is aware that she's mentally unstable but maybe with more guidance and trust in her life she can fully rehabilitate herself. The media and the paparazzi are fully aware of her current state, and just because she chooses to got out doesn't mean they have to follow her everywhere.

to be honest i dont think any of us really, has the right to pass judgment on her, seeing all we read is stories in the papers and we dont know whats true and what isnt. that kevin *****ed up her life and she's left looking like a psycho. I feel sorry for her and everyone should just leave her alone and see how she does without the constant crap she gets.

She's finally been sectioned. It's for her own good.

I am glad that she is now being given a full assessment and treatment plan. That poor girl. I believe from reports that she is being treated for Bi-polar disorder and I can tell you now that it is a really scary place to be when your world feels like it is spiralling out of control.

Mr Lufti appears to have done nothing other than exploit her mental health problems and make them worse so I am really glad he has been stopped from having contact with her. Lets hope that she can now learn to like herself again and get the right help that will allow her to live alongside her mental health problems safely. Once controlled with meds she should feel much better, that feeling of panic and the mistrust you feel about others is awful.

She should (and obviously now is) sectioned away from everything for about half a year. She needs a chance to slip back into the realms of reality, and constant stories and pap chases won't help this. She really needs a break so she can realise the situation she's in instead of continuing the downward spiral.

6 months eh Lauren! obviously their mental health system works very differently from ours in the Uk. I can not belive that they said that poor girl could go home, she drove around and around all day does that show the mind of a person who is now stable?

I wish someone would stand by their guns with her and keep her in treatment.
