What has happened to Brian? Does he have a tV slot these days or has he gone the same way as Helen and started to fizzle out of our lives. shame if that be the case...

Brian does voiceovers on a show called "Celebrity bodies" on a tv station called Trouble
bananarama

Thank's BigSister. "Trouble" being a childrens show on satellite if my memory serves me correctly!! Sadly it does seem to me his TV career is fizzling out like Helen's did. Such a shame for Brian enthusiasts. Althogh I am not a great Brian fan i do like him and think he deserves better than a voice over part on satellite tv.

Just because someone goes quiet for a while doesn't necessarily mean they've disappeared. Most TV programmes take months in the development and commissioning. Voiceovers make a great stop gap and are, apparently, extremely lucrative. Brian has also done a number of adverts recently.
Brians projects since leaving the house have all been very successful for him so far. I don't think we've seen the last of him yet.

I hope you are right but I used to clutch at straws when Helen's appearances became less and less. The inevitable may well be round the corner I am afraid.
Alison from BB3 is a steady plodder with TV appearances and TV work. It looks to me she will in the long run be more succesfull than either Brian or Helen.
Good luck to her but it's a shame as out of the 3 in my oppinion she has the least talent.
Yes i know I am a natural born pessimist so just bare with me while I indulge...

Have you been talking to Sticks by any chance!
However in this instance I feel I must agree with you. Interest in BB housemates on tv programmes is definitely on the wane. Alison to me is something and nothing, will never be a star presenter but just useful as background filler. If you know what I mean.
As for Brian the longer he is out of the limelight the more chance that is where he will stay.

Have you been talking to Sticks by any chance!
 Not lately but there might be some telapathy going on.......
You are right of course. The longer artists are off our screen the more likely they will be gone fore ever.
In the case of proffessionals then they can in some cases make a come back (Like the two Ronnies who are said to be returning) But little old BB stars will find it much more difficult me thinks.
P.S. I think i will change my middle name to "Sticks" as I am sure he is a long lost cousin  Sorry Sticks......
Have I missed something? I could have sworn it was only about 6 weeks since The Salon ended, and Brian has been narrating Celebrity Bodies ever since. Ok, they may not be appearances as such, but they are very well paid jobs. Add that to the prestigious events he's been presenting over the past few months (for example, the Clothes Show, previously presented by the likes of Dermott O'leary and Vernon Kaye) and he seems to be doing very nicely thank you!:spin:
Which sort of reminds me ... I don't recall Dermott O'leary doing much since the end of BB4, apart from Shattered, which didn't really set the world alight, in fact one of his previous shows has recently been axed. Is anyone rushing to write him off? Don't think so!
I know I am a natural born optimist, but just bear with me .... maybe .... juuuuust maybe ... I know something you don't .... :spin:

I totally agree Ig. I think we should wait and see. I wouldn't even bet £1 against seeing Brian back on our screens soon.

I do hope Brian comes back to our screens soon.
Isn't there supposed to be another Brians Boyfriends planned:conf::conf:
I think out of all the bb housemates Brian got the right start really with smtv.
I wish Helen could have done something like this.I think she would have been great on one of the childrens tv shows, some of the people they have on there are terrible!
I quite like Alison I think if she hadn't been evicted when she was she would have been more of a star.I don't think she'll ever move on to having her own show but This Morning seem to keep using her for different things and if it all ended now she seems to have been to loads of places reporting for them:thumbs:

Yes rachb, I agree with you, Sm:tv was a great start for Brian.
But we need to be realistic! Sm:tv wasn't going to run forever and how many shows run for 52 weeks of the year?
However, Brian hasn't been absent from our screens at all - guesting on very high profile shows such as Celebrities under Pressure, the Christmas edition of Ho Ho Selecta not to mention The Last Sm:tv Live at Christmas. The Salon narration ran for 6 months. I see the narration of that and Celebrity bodies etc as another string to his bow! I think in Brian's case - his agents and advisors have taken the right approach and been rather careful in their marketing of Brian - making sure he just doesn't appear on any old show for the sake of a guest appearance - and I think that is the key to longevity in any career. I know he has turned stuff in the past ! I wouldn't be surprised if there was another Brian's Boyfriend because according to an official press release '' `Brian`s Boyfriends`, hit an all time viewing figure high for its slot on itv.''
I don't think you can compare Alison with Brian at all. Alison is more or less a roving reporter. Brian on the other hand has had much more challenging roles presenting his own shows in Sm:tv live, Brian's Boyfriend, Elle Style awards and Flugtag all on Itv one.
And as far as Helen is concerned I read recently(can't remember where now) but Helen was seen in and around Carlton tv so you never know - she could be back!

Gosh! Such information could turn a dedicated pessimist into an opimist. Then again..
The trouble with clutching at straws is they eventually run out.
Yes like Helen Brian may well have more TV appearances. My pessimistic prediction is they will get further and further apart until like Helen he is almost history and will only be dug up again when a new BB series starts.
As BB5 is almost certain to be the last one ever then all of our favourite BB stars will soon vanish into the ether....:bawling:

Actually this is Brian's first stint off the screen since taking up work at SM:tv after leaving BB (and of course he is still being heard in Celeb Bodies). I don't think there is any reason to be pessimistic ! As I previously stated programmes take many months to organise what with format ideas and getting them commissioned etc etc It is not surprising that most TV personalities spend time off the box whilst their next project is being developed.
At one time I had a list of Brian's Appearances which someone had compiled. I can't seem to find it right now, but when I do I'll be sure to post it up to put poor Bananarama's mind at rest. It makes for quite impressive reading! I think it also brings home how hard he has worked for the best part of three years and may actually deserve a bit of a break! Unfortunately it looks like this "break" (some break, when you're working constantly!) is as relaxed as it's going to get for Brian, as I have it on very good authority that there are lots of things in the offing!:colour:

Brian has been very cleverly managed since leaving the house - not too many appearances to make people fed up of him (unlike some members of BB) but enough to keep him in the public eye. However I hope this is really just a temporary break for him, because I think if he is away from mainstream tv for too long he will get forgotten. And I'm sorry however much I like Brian his career cant be compared to Dermot's - sorry different class entirely with lots more experience.
As for Helen I've got a feeling she does as much and as little tv work as she wants. After all she is back hairdressing and doing dance class so is kept pretty busy with running a home as well. TV work gives her a nice little extra income and she enjoys it in small doses - it gives her a chance to do something different without being tied down too much.

Brian has just spent a very busy few months as 'the voice' on the Salon.
I am not certain but didn't Helen Adams cover for him when he had a week's holiday?

Sorry but I don't think I'm quite following the logic of that! So Brian can't do the same as Helen and do as much or as little as he wants without being forgotten? His voiceover work can't be his "hairdressing and dancing"??
I think Dermott is fantastic too - but Brian is fast catching him up in the experience stakes, and whether or not he is in a "different class" depends on how you look at things. Wish I know where I got that darn list from and I could show you exactly what I mean!
Once again (at the risk of repeating myself) I can tell you your worries about Brian are unfounded .... you can all sleep easily in your beds ....

I agree - BB2 was definitely the best series by a mile. The two since certainly haven't held my interest in the same way.
It was lovely seeing Brian on 'Love on a Saturday Night'. I think he must have been reading this forum - here some people were wondering what had happened to him and up he pops on prime time telly, albeit briefly.
