View Full Version : Woman's jealousy leading to Jade's eviction

Jade's eviction just highlights how insecure the voting public are. I predicted on launch night that Jade would be the first evictee, and I was completely right.
Why? You can claim that "she was annoying", and yes, she was, but Victor too was annyoing, and not only that, he's sexist, mean, spiteful, and an overall twat.
The reason Jade was evicted was because she is an attractive and intelligent woman, and someone like her stands no chance at ever getting anywhere in programmes like these, because the majority of voters are female, who will instantly hate any female housemates because of their own insecurities and jealousy. I'm sure many will deny it in this thread, but it's clear that Jade was just an incredibly nice person who didn't deserve to get evicted tonight.
Still in doubt? Look who's the 5/2 favourite to win...Anthony is a nice enough guy, but if he was ugly, would be favourite to win? Of course not, and this is completely ruining Big Brother. Jade had an incredible attitude that deserved to see her to the final.
Shame on the voting public ...

A beauty queen with an IQ of 178 was doomed from the start, I suppose.
But it's not her fault that the voting public can only dream of achieving what she has.

Completely agree, it shocked be that the voting public didn't kick Victor out, he deserved it. I was so shocked. I mean, remember BB7? They did the right thing by kicking chauvinist pig Sezer out, so why not Victor? His ego is going to go right up...

Hmm, I understand it's good to keep the controversial/argumentative HMs in...but to be honest, he's only really caused an argument once, and if he just keeps on saying "Emilia! Make me tea!" he'll go eventually anyway...

As much as I agree that Jade should not have been evicted tonight, I disagree that it's all down to women's jealousy.
As much as a lot of people may like Jade, and enjoyed watching her, there was a lot of people who disliked her for her "annoying" personality, and some people believed her to be fake. And, I don't mean just women. Yes, it probably made up the majority, but it always will as its fact that more women watch BB then men. Also, you say Victor is this, that and the other - and again, I agree - but lots of people would disagree and believe he is a great housemate.
I think Jade's eviction can be explained in two points [1] BBCH is on a digital channel, so obviously less viewers means less votes. The loss of text voting means that the younger audience probably wont be bothered to ring in and vote. The results are going to fluctuate I think, and unlike other earlier series - I imagine for this series every vote really does count. [2] Victor is a man bitch, and this early on I think a lot of people felt that Victor needed to stay. Also, Victor was liked very early on, while Jade only really began to gain a real fan base later on. Also, Emilia/Victor/Jeremy fans would naturally vote to evict Jade in order to keep here favorite in.
You say that Anthony would not be favourite if he was ugly - well, we will never now. But John was favourite to win at one point, and still is second favourite to win, and lets face it - he ain't no Brad Pitt. Also, if he is a nice guy - whats wrong with him being favourite to win?
However, I agree that Jade should not have been evicted, and I will miss her.

It clearly is though ... examples of women's jealousy dictating the eviction results (2005 onwards)
In Big Brother 2005, 6 woman entered the house, and 4 of them were gone by week 5, when Mary and Sam were inoffensive (I believe the evictions of Lesley and Saskia were understandable)
Vanessa did very little, and was hated for being boring.
Anthony does very little, and wins for being an attractive male.
In Big Brother 2006, Susie is slated for being boring - Pete arguably was also dull, and yet wins. In thirteen weeks, only two men were evicted over women in a vote to evict vote (Mikey + Sezer)
Woman's unability to like woman leads to a crowd cheering at the idea of housemate Aisleyne being beaten up. Thankfully, Aisleyne managed to completely turn it around, but even that only gets her third place.
In Big Brother 2007, Shilpa gets booed even when she is in the final two. Of course, as we know, Shilpa won, but some people out there booed her, because she was incredibly attractive and obviously inteliigent.
In the summer, two female housemates make it to the final, out of a total of 16 or something. They are two very inoffensive housemates - Amanda and Sam, and Carole - Carole is overweight and 53, therefore not a threat to the young women out there.
My least favourite case of this was with Kara-Louise, where she clearly bullied in the house, and yet no one said anything because a 'fit lad' (Liam) and the producers favourite (Brian) were behind it. Instead, people slate Kara-Louise for being boring.
If you are a nice female, you're boring. If you're a nice male, you win.
Women need to stop being so insecure.

I actually think that Victor's eviction was the next step in the story arch - obviously now, we'll have to wait longer for that, but he's realizing he can't be like what he was, and nothing will happen in terms of not only his appearence in the house, but also with the Jeremy/Emilia story.
I'll just ignore the second part as I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be a lot older than you're acting ...

Well when you watch the HL's show you'll know that Jade wasn't trying to compete with Emilia at all, she actually after it, went into the diary room and said how Emilia was amazing at what she does.

If I had friends that discussed other people the way she does , I'd feel very uncomfortable. Though she hasn't possessed the obvious bitching that Grace and Liam (although his wasn't even noticed because he's "FIT", remember?), it is there, she only seems to feel it towards girls though, obviously Jade, and there have been examples where she's shown bitchy or jealousy-provoking behavior towards Amy.

Actually, 'saying it to their face' clear and straight isn't technically bitchy, that's more just being nasty.
Bitchyness comes in more sly forms, such as backstabbing, which Emilia has shown (her "get her out" comment about Jade), and also upfront sly manipulation (her conversation about Russell with Amy).

Of course it's much nastier - personally, I'd rather have people have a quick bitch about me then up front tell me everything that's wrong, so Emilia's style of bitchyness, the more common one in people these days would perhaps seem tamer, but it's still very nasty.
It's not actually my opinion thats she's bitchy - psychologically she shows tactics and behavior that indicate bitchyness. She's not THAT bitchy, but she's still the biggest bitch in the house.

I don't think anyone can deny that having an IQ of 178 is exceptional. I doubt anyone on this forum can even reason near that area.
It was taken when she was 4 years old. It's an unreliable reflection of what it would be if she was to test it now.

Callum & Dupin, you may not agree with me but saying that "I'm talking rubbish" or "I am supposed to be a lot older than I am acting" aren't necessary. I'm entitled to have an opinion and unless yours is better than mine, I can claim it where I want even if it annoys you !
Remy, there is having an opinion but to have an opinion I feel you must have a way to back it up, but whenever asked you never seem to be able to do so, when it comes to Jade.
I just don't understand you guys, I'm telling my opinions on what Dupin said and everyone is jumping at me because I don't like her. If I was doing that, you would kill me because I don't respect yours.
I don't like Jade and I know what I'm talking about please ! And my comments and critics weren't all about Jade.
I'm just stunned by what everyone told me now.
If you post your opinions publically on the internet, it'd be naive to expect anything other than for people to disagree and debate about them. We are all here to discuss Big Brother, lest we forget ... If you're not prepared to be disagreed with, then I would stop having a say on anything.

But I do respect everyone's opinions, I've never said the contrary and I know that many people will disagree with me as much as I do but "you're talking rubbish" and everything wasn't a nice way to respect these opinions.

Um, barely. She went to a school especially for exceptional children from the ages of 4 to 18 I think, and she's only 21 now. She is clearly very intelligent and I would think it'd be incredibly unlikely for her IQ to be significantly lower than it was 17 years ago.
Saying that, she doesn't really act like she has an IQ of 178, but underneath all the happiness and so forth, you can see that she's very intelligent.

That's my whole point. Call me suspicious, but I actually think Jade has tested her IQ since. Let's face it if you knew you're IQ was 178 when you were 4, you'd be pretty keen to test it again when you're older because that is exceptionally high. It's so easy to test it nowadays as well. I'm guessing she done that and found it to be less, and is conveniently not mentioning it.

I'd tend to trust my general opinion of someone having watched/ talked to them as a better judge of intelligence as opposed to an IQ test. Not saying i'm fantastic at it or anything but to me, IQ doesn't mean much. Most of the tests seem to be difficult to relate to real life experience and show little as to how any cognitive skills could be adapted around the pressures of society.

At least, we can't say she's not intelligent even if her IQ is not the same.

I'm not sure that your opinion can be based on a cryptic conspiracy theory as opposed to the person (though clearly you don't like that either.)
I think the thing is, obviously there are exceptions - I'm not saying all women hate Jade and men don't, it will be less structured and robitic than that, but clearly what I say in the original post is applicable, and I thought long and hard about it before making it.

That's all well and good, but don't go undermining IQ tests. They're clearly reliable...that's why they are IQ tests after all.

It's hardly a conspiracy theory, I just find it strange she hasn't tested it since. I still think she is intelligent (there's no denying that) but she has no real talent and you can't really rely on that IQ score. I think she also said she got 2 As and a B in her A levels. Again, good but hardly exceptional. You can't get into Cambridge or Oxford University with those.

To be honest though, she wouldn't have even got in if she didn't have a talent.

Well obviously (based on the producer's opinion). I'm just saying I don't think it's a real talent (in my opinion of course). I think Emilia summed her up - "jack of all trades; master of none".

Liam lied about his buisness and he's in so the producers didn't verify their sources.

I am undermining them because I don’t think they are reliable.
What does an IQ test prove exactly? That you are intelligent? In what sense? They sit you down in an artificial environment and give you a series of logic based questions. I don't think they are an accurate representation because I think intelligence is more complex and you can't expect to get an accurate answer from one test that lasts about an hour.

Jade's eviction just highlights how insecure the voting public are. I predicted on launch night that Jade would be the first evictee, and I was completely right.
Why? You can claim that "she was annoying", and yes, she was, but Victor too was annyoing, and not only that, he's sexist, mean, spiteful, and an overall t***.
Shame on the voting public ...
hundred percent corecrt. people will give excuses but we know the truth jade and all; attractive girls get slated by big briother audience. emilia will be next fingers crosswed she dont gop up for noms.

Too bad,. I liked Jade,. rare these days (in fact i've never) to see someone with such an awesome attitude about living your life positively.
As far as the voting/girl hate thing you might be onto something dupin. But I also have to agree with arneldo that alot of people did find her annoying. Myself I didn't quite get what Jade was all about until after a few days.
Regarding her I.Q in question by some of the critics if you understand anything about the test you will know that regardless of the difference in the kinds of tests, most are very accurate and stay constant throughout life. You can argue they might not show reality concerning everyday activites or street smarts but that isn't the basis of the test. It shows your ability to learn, adapt, solve problems and retain information. Do a little research and you will find an I.Q score between 174 to 200 is shared by 1 in a 1,000,000 people and is higher then Einstiein's.
Anyway i don't want to get in any flame war with a few of you who didnt like Jade I just thought I had to make my say. I thought she was truly a unique person and very beautiful spiritually and physically and I believe the voting public got it wrong. Not the first time i've been disappointed and highly probable it wont be the last.
P.S I believe Jade has A bright future ahead of her and I'm sure this wont be the last we'll see of her.

&i don't think it was talent either.

She was indeed annoying. That's why I voted for her five times last night.
I also think the producers/hijackers (whoever is concerned) have been fixing the show to make Victor look bad in this last week.
When John McCririck did the task when a housemate saw footage of what another person thinks of them, who was chosen to see it? Jade. A nominee. Who was it they were showing footage to her of? Victor. A nominee. Surely, if this had to be done, then they should have done it with two non-nominees?
And the debate task that Janet Street-Porter set the housemates is another example. The discussion topic, which is the superior gender, was also setting up Victor for a fall imo.
Which is why I am elated that Jade got evicted last night... I was convinced that Victor would go...

I can't agree more, the editing was made in order to make us thinking that Victor will be out, that was obvious. That's why we were all surprised last night !

I think there are some girls out there who will be jealolus of Jade thats normal but I think the reason she was voted out is because she offered the least from the three that were up. Being happy offers no debate which makes her happy but plain and bland. The other two raise debate therefore are bigger and better characters to have in the show.
