Davina McCall has held discussions with US TV chiefs over the possibility of presenting an American TV show, it has been revealed.

The Big Brother presenter has been offered one main TV programme, but she has also been in talks with a number of TV bosses including Fox reality chief Mike Darnell.

Darnell helped launch Cat Deeley's career in the States and was also behind the creation of American Idol.

A source told The Sun: "Davina is in talks with American TV chiefs. She has been offered one main gig, a daily show. Our TV stars have done amazingly well in the US - look at Cowell, Cat and Anne Robinson. And there are also actors like Hugh Laurie, Minnie Driver and Anna Friel, all starring on hit US dramas."

The insider added: "Davina is thinking hard about America. Any star worth their salt would not think twice about going there - it is a dream."

McCall's spokespeople confirmed that she has been in talks with US producers but insisted that she would not be quitting Big Brother, adding that she has signed up for Big Brother 9 this summer.

I read that this morning too.
At least she doesn't quit Big Brother but I think that, if she wants to achieve her dream then she should do it. After all, she may wants to do something different, I can see her on a daily show.

I wouldn't mind if she did leave BB for a US project, because she's becoming quite stale on it now and Dermot is proving that the show really is the same, with or without her. But I don't think she'd ever leave BB.

Definately. I really want her to do something different when she doesn't host Big Brother like she did in the Friday Night Project, that was brilliant.

I don't think she'll ever quit BB. When she leaves, she will have been sacked.

Davina loves Big Brother so I don't think she is going anywhere.

If she had any sense, she would take the offer of the daily show because most of them are bought over here as well, so it could lead to more work on both sides of the atlantic.
