For me it was their choice of housemates and the all girl twist. On BB7's launch night, the house was filled with 14 crazily unique personalities, with the potential to fill a million nights highlight shows to the brim with top class entertainment. In BB8's launch night the house was filled with 10 women, 2 of which were old stick in the muds, 3 of which were wannabes (or 5 if like me you believe the twins were fake) and a bunch of other forgettable people. In BB8 there were no men till 3 days in and then it was only 1. Prior to BB8, there had only been 2 (or 3, can't remember) female winners and the ones that provided all the best laughs were the men. So we were stuck for like a week with talk of make-up and men (boring) in BB7 apart from maybe Bonnie and George, all of the housemates were gold, from day 1 till their exits.

BB went from a series full of great people to a series full of rubbish ones.

For me, the housemates ruined BB8. If they'd have put in BB1, 2, 3, 5, 6 or 7's housemates, despite the sh*tty twists and stupid nomination messing it would have still been enjoyable.

Anyone agree?

Lets hope BB9 has some great personalities on launch night, like BB7 (the last good series) had. Although I don't think they could beat some of the housemates in that year.

For me, BB8 was a good series, much better than BB7 cause we had normal people at least, but less entertaining than BB5 and BB6 by miles.
Too many housemates have been there, the Halfway House was a big mistake.
I loved all the tasks and most of the twists (fake week is a legend).

BB8 was good but i think the all girl house at the begining ruined it and lost alot of viewers

then the tasks and twists could of been so much better, when Aisleyne Went next door in BB7 it was like WOW! COOL!

but then when Kara Louise, David, Jonty and Amy went next door in BB8 it was kinda been there done that !

BB9 needs something REALLY FRESH AND REALLY NEW! :bouncy:

supernoodles!

I disagree,I thought bb8 sucked.Althought i did enjoy bits of it,as much as I hate her Charley made the show, along with Brian and the twins.Chanelle spoiled it for me as well as the likes of the half way housemates,Carole (fun wrecker!) and other wallflowers such as Tracey........(I cant actually remember any others but I know there were plenty!)Maybe I was expecting something that wasnt going to happen after my love and the success of bb7 but tbh i dont think my expectations were unreasonable.yes the tasks were, old, predicvtable, boring, stale etc but what really let the series down were the housemates-they sucked big time!To make bb9 a success we need wacky, fresh, out there loonies combined with laid back,'normal person type qualities' but slightly extroverted at times with a sense of humour people with outgoing personalities.Strange combination i know but thats what happened in bb7 and it worked!Bring on the freaks I say:cheer:

I liked BB8 with the chanelle and Ziggy arguements, and then their was charley and Brian falling in love with one of the twins then their was carol who was so obessed with cleaning and got jealous over "Her boys"And than chanelle leaving staying, leaving staying etc.Charley going back in was also quite good.

It wasn't bad as a show, if I was a newcomer to BB, I'd of enjoyed it, but seeing the previous year which was a hell of a lot better (for those saying it wasn't, rewatch the launch night and you'll soon realise I'm right).

What I liked about BB7, was that from launch night, the live feed was addictive (which is rare as launch night live feed is usually sound dipped chats about previous series and their jobs). The house was filled with loads of people who all individually (minus Bonnie and George) interesting people. In BB8 only 4 or 5 housemates stood out, the rest just bounced off of them.

For once I agree with Bigbrotherin on pretty much every point he made.

Big Brother 8 was good but it was missing the spark that made you want to watch it live until your eyes bled. It was a washed out , toned down , politically correct , controlled , desperate show.

The only , ONLY night during that entire series that had me hooked was the insomnia task , which I actually participated in along with the housemates.

Its stuff like that you remember a year later.
