Due to the extremely sensitive nature of his work with the SAS, Andy McNab is the only author who has to submit his fiction to the British Ministry of Defence for review, and he is still wanted by a number of the world's terrorist organizations. He is therefore forbidden to reveal either his face or his current location.

Anyone have any back-ground info, or is he just made up?

Andy Mcnab (not his real name) is a good author if you like that type of thing. I think that we should not fuel his large ego though, I have actually met him through my volunatry work with a veterans organisation and Chris Ryan is a far nicer man altogether.

He was a former SAS soldier who was captured during the first gulf conflict in 91. Both men mentioned have sold their stories about operation bravo 2 zero (probs not called that) and gone on to be best selling authors of action hero type books.
