I was just wondering what talents people have here.

My main talent is my art - I'm a contemporary artist and I work with shapes and lines mostly, like abstract art, which is because I really can't paint at all. I'm working on a few project at the moment, one of which is a conceptual art project (kind of inspired by Amy, I wasn't completely aware of conceptual art as an option until BB:CH).

I'm also Grade 6 Piano and Grade 5 saxaphone and I can kind of play the guitar.

What about you?

Pretty lame; but I have a firm grasp on empathy and insight. I know exactly why people do things, what they will do, their motives, their problems, how best to deal with it. It helps considering I'm doing a Psychology degree and want to be a Psychologist.

I dont like the tag of 'Talents' or being 'Talented' because soebody who gives themselves either of those tag probably are not. I can play bass , I can play guitar , I have a pretty wicked tolerance to alcohol , and im fairly funny when put under a spotlight at a drunken party , but would I consider them talents? No. Millions of other people can do them , and I dont particulary do that stuff better than others.

I speak 4 languages fluent (French, English, Italian, Russian),
I am a DJ (since 15)
I am a politician as I'm Student of The Year, the chairman of the Young Municipal Council in Marseille, I've been Class President for the 6th time and I am the representant of a charity against obesity.
I work in a luxury Hotel for the some holidays and some week ends. I started when I was 16, which is quite incredible for this industry.

I don't think those are talents or that I am talented at all. I'm lucky I guess.

I seem to be able to find new songs ages before they're "released", which is annoying more than talented

I can't really sing, act, dance or do art but oh well. I suppose I'm quite talented at English and Politics, plus languages.

Oh and some random ones- I'm fairly good at the DDR Dance Machines, can do a good voice impression of Bo Selecta's Mel B, and singing Grace Kelly when on helium.

My dad's got loads of trophies for clay pidgeon shooting, so not much chance of me beating him lol.

He's also very good at archery and that thing where you knock coconuts off stands. One time me and him just turned up and knocked off the whole lot of coconuts, hardly a miss between us lol.

I think I've only done the rifle ranges once but that was a quite a few years back.

I've got loads of football trophies, played from when I was about 3 right until I was 15 when an injury put me out for good. I was almost scouted as well  I've also done a bit of swimming which I've got 1 or 2 awards for but I never really stuck at that. The last sport I've done is boxing from when I was 13 until now, 18. I've won a few national tournaments (both amateur and semi pro), came runner up in a few others and I've had offers to do more semi pro national and international tournaments but I'm not as committed to it as some of my boxing mates are and I don't want it as badly as they do so I tend to turn it down so one of them can do it instead. I just use it as a pass time rather than something which can be a future career unlike them. So basically I'm an all round athlete :spin2:

I cant Irish dance or sing or act either so I shall shall reach for the shotgun and kill the talentless reflection I see in my mirror. Not myself of course :joker:

I think I am happy just being me. It doesnt matter if I am really talented at anything in particular, I mean if you rush to help an old lady who has fallen down in the street while others pass by and just look, then you have performed a necessary good deed for that day. That has got to be worth something.

Sorry to hear that your arthritis has prevented you from doing what you love and are good at.

Errrm I'm quite empathic and i'm a decent writer, I'm quite imaginitive but i'm not sure that's a talent.

I've got a killer sense of rythmn and i'm pretty good at dance machines, don't know how to dance though. I think i'm more inteligent then I let on and i'm quite academic, my best subjects were always English & English Literature and I.T

I think i'm also a lil' psychic (if there's such a thing, a better word would be intuition) as sometimes i kinda know what will happen next. I'm not sure if it is a talent, i'd call it an instinct but i'll put it down anyway.

Wow, you guys have some pretty cool talents! Ice-skating is something I'd love to be good at!!

I think my best talent is probably writing. I've won 4 creative writing competitions, and my short stories have been published twice. :D So I'm pretty excited about my writing - it's what I do to get my ideas down, and it's what I do to express myself. So I'm hoping to do a degree in Creative Writing at University, and it's one of my goals to get a novel published.

I'm also a decent artist - or so I've been told. I beg to differ, though. I mainly do simple sketch and shade sort of things, but I occasionally paint things, as well.

I used about 152 meters of clingfilm, which wasn't very expensive, but was a lot. It took about 6 hours to put up, but overall I was very happy with it. I took about 100 pictures overall I think, maybe I'll post some more.

For the record, I'm not actually a conceptual artist, this was just a conceptual art project.

Conceptual art is art where the concept behind it takes precedence over the actually final product. It's used to make a point, or show emotion or thoughts, which really I think is what art should be about.

I agree, I dont really see what so amazing about just portatraits or landscapes, where is the thought's, feelings?

I suppose their are two main types of art, one demonstarting a artistic skill, and the other showing thoughts, feeling and showing a point. I prefer the second.

A lot of people don't really get conceptual/installation art, and just think it's a bit weird that I clingfilmed everything...

Can you explain the whole thing about conceptual art to me, as I dont really know much about it.

Is it like when you can think of a concept behind it, or their is a concept behind it, or their is no concept behind it?

For the record, I'm not actually a conceptual artist, this was just a conceptual art project.

Conceptual art is art where the concept behind it takes precedence over the actually final product. It's used to make a point, or show emotion or thoughts, which really I think is what art should be about. Ooh i never knew that, thats quite interesting, do you think our schools will make us do anything like that for GCSE art? x

I agree, I dont really see what so amazing about just portatraits or landscapes, where is the thought's, feelings?

I suppose their are two main types of art, one demonstarting a artistic skill, and the other showing thoughts, feeling and showing a point. I prefer the second. Hmm.. i think id be better at the 1st but after seeing some of dupin's pictures i think id be quite interested in doing some of my own stuff! xx

I think you can do it for GCSE art - I was advised not to due to it being harder to show how you got to it in your pre-final project planning sheets...
