Will Young performs at Baftas

Will Young has surprised guests at the Bafta TV awards by performing his hit single Evergreen.

He sang alone on the stage wearing a dark suit.

The Pop Idol winner was the only performance at the ceremony.

The team behind the ITV show were presented with the award for best entertainment show by Gary Lucy and Davina McCall.

Pop Idol has won the Best Entertainment Prize at the TV Baftas.

But the ITV show's hosts, Ant and Dec, lost out on the Best Entertainment Performance prize to Graham Norton.

He won that award for the third year running for his Channel 4 show, So Graham Norton.

Also nominated were Paul Merton for Have I Got News For You, and John Bird and John Fortune for Bremner, Bird and Fortune.

Cat Deeley presented the comedian with his award.

Pop Idol beat Have I Got News For You, Parkinson and Room 101 to clinch the award for Best Entertainment Programme or Series

I don't know if it makes it better or worse if I tell you that Will looked absolutely LUSH when he performed at the Awards tonight. Black suit & t-shirt, and his hair all messed up and soooo sexy!!! :blush:

He sang brilliantly and had a fantastic response from the celebrity audience. The cameras panned to Ant & Dec at one point, and Dec was sitting smiling - looking so proud of Will. :thumbs:

Oooh, yeah I saw this and he was amazing!
He did look very SEXY with is hair all gelled and he did a fabulous performance. Got a bit of a shock when he appeared on stage - lovely shock though!!:colour::spin2::colour:

I taped the BAFTA's (so I can get rid of all the rubbish bits and the adverts) and finally got to watch it tonight. The lovely Will looked decidely lush! Like his new hairstyle and he looked very handsome in his suit. He's still doing the knee bends and the hand thing but I can forgive him anything.

He sang live and sounded great. He got a really good reception from the audience.
