BIG BROTHER contestants will be sent stir-crazy because producers have SHRUNK the house to give them claustrophobia.

The house has been built as the smallest yet while producers have increased the number of housemates to 12. They want rows to kick off with the group living on top of each other.

A Big Brother insider said: “There are more mirrors and stark lighting to make the atmosphere more claustrophobic and intense.

“We’ve designed the house to be difficult.”

Big Brother, which starts on May 28, will feature a series of stunts to make contestants’ lives as tough as possible. Water and power will switch off without warning.

Here's a quote from the BB4 book, which makes interesting reading!

" 'We don't need to mess around with their lives while they're in there,' says Gigi Eligoloff, Executive Producer ... 'All the really compulsive elements from Big Brother come from leaving them alone to get on with it.

'We don't want to push people to the edge. BB isn't about being tough enough to survive hardships like not having enough to eat, it's an experience where you have to rely on others to survive, and there's enough drama generated through the business of having to nominate your friends, without having to add anythign else to the mix.' "

Hmmmm ..... sounds like they have done a complete U-turn on this for BB5 !!
