From the drinks thread,I was just wondering when everyone started drinking?
I put the middle ages seperatly as theres a big difference. And it also seems that mid-late teens is most common.

Obviously apart from the little treat of like a beer at Christmas when I was younger...I first drank alcohol at 15, which was cider and vodka. I don't drink that often, though, and still don't...once a fortnight maybe.
When I was about 12 on the field on a Friday night back in my yesi days  Well grown out of them now though :laugh2:

12. Guy next door always used to raid the spirits stash at his house and we used to get drunk. Also, he used to go to a lot of wedding parties with his family, invite me and we'd get drunk there too!

I first drank at 13 now and again. I first got REALLY drunk when I was 14 at new year and since then have drank regularly and I seem to increase the amount weekend by weekend.
But I do only drink to get drunk, I don't drink "socially" ... I'd prefer to stick to Lucozade if I weren't out for the night.
I was about 10/11 when I nicked one of my dad's bottle of beer.

In the russia tradition, you start at 6. But it was not a full glass of vodka.
My first "drunken" night was at 14 so I voted 14.

I was allways of the opinion that laws were put in place for our own safety and welfare so i didnt have my first drink untill i was 18. and i never really get properly drunk untill the age of 20.
Personally i dont really see the appeal in it. i dont drink anymore and iv only ever been drunk about twice.

Haha, for girls you can get into nightclubs easier underage because bouncers are perves. For men it's different.
Edit: Infact, I think I look younger than I am still. I'm 18 and I get ID'd for lotto LOL.

i was ten when i was allowed my first drink under my parents supervision.I think I had 2 bacardi breezers on my first fmaily holiday. When I was 13 I started drinking with my friends on the streets like a bit (chavvy i know lol) but we only used to be able to get our hands on say one bottle of lambrini lol. Then at 14 I started going to house parties so that is the first time i was really really drunk. At almost 15 and up until nown (17) ive been going out drinking in pubs and clubs.

I was about 14, but had drunk alcohol at a younger age on the odd occasion. Sometimes I wish I never drank alcohol at all though.

i was 14, and it was the usual at the weekends with my mates in the streets, man they were the days.... but one night we all went to the pub that always had out local bands playing and got served so we started going there every weekend, their ended up being about 20 of us there. eventually the bar staff found out we werent 18 when some girl from school who didnt get in told them, but they didnt chuck us out, one of them came up to us and said they knew our age but they were going to let us stay in as long as we didnt cause any trouble. but i think they got most of their takings from us so thats prob why they let us stay

16 lol, only cause there have been parties since sixth form started, So basically if i dident go sixth form at all i probably wouldent drink still.
16. I have only been drinking for about a year believe it or not. What a year. Screw the arguments of cannabis being a gateway drug. Alcohol is a true gateway drug.

13/14 when out with friends, e.g. at their house (so chose the under 14 option). I think most people try alcohol around that age but probably start 'drinking' later. Since then, it was more and more house parties, then parties in general - and now I'm at the stage where all my friends drink loads and usually much more than I do (and not always because I'm a lightweight... although it results in a cheaper night out!) Sometimes it can be fun being the sober one around friends, but at others it's really annoying so I feel like drinking myself - especially if the situation is awkward.
As you can see, I don't drink. I don't know why - personal decision after the hangovers and illnesses, so may just have the odd glass now.

A glass of wine on special occasions at around 13 or 14, and I started drinking in pubs at 17.
