Dermot calls for Celebrity Big Brother to be axed
by ANDREI HARMSWORTH - Thursday, February 21, 2008
Celebrity Big Brother presenter Dermot O'Leary has all but confessed that BB fans have seen the last of the Celebrity version of the reality show.
Slurring his words at Sony's Brit's bash at the Park Lane Hilton's roof top Galvin's bar he revealed: 'I didn't feel like Celebrity Hijack deserved the flack from the press that it got this year.'
'It really p*ssed me off how it was compared to when the series was on Channel 4.
'That's like comparing a corner shop to a Sainsbury's. It just wasn't fair.'
But when we asked if he was willing to stand by another series, he conceded: 'I don't know if there should be another one, maybe not. Maybe. We shall wait and see.'
Meanwhile across the room, his equally sozzled Big Brother side-kick, Davina McCall, distanced herself from the death of the show all together.
The 40 year-old said: 'I had nothing to with Celebrity Hijack. So I take no responsibility for it.
'We'll be back with Big Brother this year. Big Brother's not finished yet.'
The mum of three then had a little moan about having to leave her little tykes at home, sadly hoping they could come out and party.
