View Full Version : Jack's BB9
Well, I have decided to start a new thread because it makes sense seing as this is a new project. I've already released the eye, outside pics, hallway pics and dining area but here they are again (with a couple new ones of the dining area to whet your appetite).

The eye of the series features purple concentric circles against a shimmery distorted silver/grey template.

The outside of the house is similar to the BB6/BB7 house. There is a small stage for Davina to present eviction shows as well as the usual screen.

The entrance hallway uses the colours of the eye in a polka dot pattern on the wall. There is an elevator at the end of the hallway which takes the housemates down into the house.

The dining area is entirely monochrome to give a sombre atmosphere. There are three damansk patterns on the wall to add to the gothic style.

Thanks, I didn't like the eye very much at first but it's grown on me. :spin2:

I love it. Isn't that big white space slightly ... too big though?

I do plan on furnishing it with beanbags/cushions, but it would be used for task equipment etc.
Here's a hint:
The Kitchen is HOT!

Wow, thanks Spike!
I LOVE the worktops, but I'm not so sure about the 'fire' theme...

It's pretty cool, your sketchup skills are amazing, but it doesn't seem that...'wow'ish to me. There also seems to be way too much open space, not that it's a bad thing, just very unlike a Big Brother house.
Thanks the comments guys.

I deliberately wanted to make the house much bigger. It's similar in size to the pre-BB5 houses which also had a lot of space. A lot of people said my last house was too small, including you, so I consciously made it bigger.

Yeah, like I said, it's not a bad thing. I prefer this house being big to the other one being far too small (though it was a great house).

This house looks so cool so far Jack! My only problem is that I dont thinkt his house works being big, I think this design would look much better packed in ;) It's almost as if it was designed to be compact

Thanks for the feedback. Seeing as I haven't completed the house yet, I'm going to modify it and make the proportions smaller. I admit, I think it is too big, but I thought my previous house was about the right size but many found it too small, so I consciously made this one big but I guess it's too big. :conf2:

Well, I have refined the dining area/living area and kitchen. It is smaller and I have tweaked some of the design. I think the proportion is much better than before. It took me a while so any feedback will be appreciated. :spin2:

Thanks.
I've made it smaller. Honestly, any smaller and it would be rediculous. It's the kitchen, dining area and living area therefore is the same usable space as the BB6 kitchen/living/dining area which was much bigger.
Here's a picture with human scale. I fail to see how it is too big. :conf:
(By the way I have blinded the doors to the garden, hence the black box in the corner of the picture).

This is the same space for the BB6 house. It looks bigger to me, and I thought the BB6 house were perfectly formed.

It's brilliant. My first house was designed based on the BB6 house which is by far the best BBUK house (BB5 comes close though).

Thanks! I used SketchUp to create the house, and Photoshop for the eye.
Bravo. I tried to use Sketchup once but it's very hard... I couldn't work out how the textures work! :D
Would love to see more of your work, Jack.
