Britney Spears will be allowed to visit her children "soon, very soon," after lawyers hammered out a structured visitation arrangement, Kevin Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan tells PEOPLE.

Kaplan confirmed Friday that he and his partner Jim Simon spent two days working with Spears's legal team. Under the terms of the agreement, details of which Kaplan would not disclose, Jayden, 1, and Preston, 2, will once again enjoy "participation of their mother in their lives," Kaplan says.

"We're pleased that ... the process of reinstating the children's mother as a participant in their lives can commence," said Kaplan.

Spears, 26, has not seen her boys since her Jan. 3 custody stand-off with police, leading to her first forced hospitalization in a psych ward.

she has a lot to do to ever be good enough to mother those two children again. it's okay having the megabucks to pay for excellent lawyers to get your own way in life; but britney has really fallen from grace now and is still not winning any confidence from me. she will have to really prove herself to all of us; as well as her children.

She is on the road to recovery, but she can not complete that road without seeing her boys. She has been out of the tabloids recently and has started teaching children dance classes at the Millenuim Dance Studios, she will never get better with people like you criticising she needs to do more...

^^ I am sorry that I don't possess the confidence which you do. I criticise her as I read what she has done with her life over the past year; none of it good really. I'm sure the papers paint a very pretty story of how things are improving; but I am thinking more about the welfare of her two children. I'm sure britney needs are children; just like any mother would and I am also sure that contact with them may help her; but I still think it's early days. perhaps too early for Britney to get too close.

Exactly, you "read what she has done".

Enough said.
