only it got less than 5 million a highlights show, whil looking at the x factor that get 8 million a show.
Even with bb 5 that didnt get 8 million a highlights show.
What your views on it, becuse i you look at it, bb never reaches over 5 milion, mabey its BRANDED a seccess when it gets 4 million becuse its on everyday i dont know

BB97? Wow.
Its a success for Channel 4 who very rarely get over 6m viewers. If it was on ITV1 it would get 8-9m viewers per episode. Its nothing to do with the show, its the channel its on.
Love Island 1 beat BB6 every day, but that was branded as a failure because it was on ITV1 whereas the media continued to be intrigued by BB6.

I agree. Channel 4 is a newish channel. BBC and ITV have been around along time. C4 was launched mid 80's. It means older people never got used to it. Thats why most programmes are fresh and vibrant nand fun and modern. Give it another 20 years, and C4 will probz beat BBC and ITV in ratings.
As for BB97, your a bit ambitious about the shows future :conf2:

Its rare for Channel 4 to get over 3 million nowadays, the only things that reaches it are cooking shows.

For C4 anything over 3m is a success. The show can get 7m for launch and finale nights which is C4 biggest ratings of the year. The 4m and 5m it gets for the highlights are C4 highest ratings too.
For a 9pm slot 4m is very good considering the recent ratings for ITV1 and BBC1 in this slot

To show the ratings gap between ITV1 and C4 you can just look at there highest ratings for an average day
ITV1 probably Corrie with 10m
C4 probably The Simpsons with 2.7m

1. BB is on later than X Factor
2. BB is on Channel 4, not ITV
3. BB is on daily, not weekly
BB does get over 8 million on launch and finale, but 5 million on other nights, it's a good amount to have, over half of Emmerdale's ratings and that's the 3rd most watched programme on TV.
Also people believe BARB to be an accurate measure, but it really isn't. Only just over 5k homes have a BARB box thing, and as been seen on here and D.S., a minority rarely represents the majority.
